Adesina Ayodele Fagbenro-Byron (popularly known as SFB; born June 5, 1959), is a former governance adviser with the United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DFID), [1] co-founder of the KOWA party in July 2009, a lawyer, an Afro-jazz musician better known as "Byron" and a presidential candidate [2] for the KOWA Party. Early life and education

SFB was born on June 5, 1959, in UCH Ibadan to barrister Samuel Adekunle Fagbenro and his wife Victoria Modupe Oke. He is an alumnus of Mary Hill Convent's Primary School in Ibadan, Ibadan College 1970–1974 and the Federal Government College 1975–77, Ilorin. He has a BSc (Economics), LL.B (Bachelor of Laws), M.Inf.Sc (Master's Information Science) from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He was called to the bar at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos in 1989. [11] [12] [13]

Career

SFB worked for 10 years with the United Kingdom Government's Department for International Development (DFID) but retired in September 2015; he served as governance adviser in the delivery of several federal level governance programs, regional coordinator for South West [14] and South East Nigeria as well as Head of Office, for Lagos and Enugu respectively. He has also served as resource person to past and present governments especially in structuring development support and technical assistance to state and non-state actors. [22]

Fagbenro is an Afro-jazz musician and a stage performer. He has published works, including the acclaimed peace song "Alafia", and performed live under the name "Byron". [23] [24]

He is chief responsibility officer of Mothergold Ltd, founder of Sina Fagbenro & Associates in 1990, initiator of the Partnerships for Development (P4D) and co-founder and chairman of the Victoria Modupe Oke Foundation. [25] [26] [27] [28]

Politics

SFB contested for the local government Chairmanship Election in the Eti Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, on the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in 2001 but later withdrew.

In July 2009, he joined the KOWA party as founding member with others including Chinua Azuzu, Fola Adeola, Ngozi iwere, Muktar Bakare, Remi Sonaiya, Mark Adebayo, the current general secretary and Saidu Bobboi, national chairman. [12] [29] [30] [31]

He is married to Lolade and has 5 children, 4 boys and 1 daughter her name is moyosoreoluwa. [32]

Action Congress of Nigeria Political party

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), formerly known as Action Congress (AC), was a Nigerian political party formed via the merger of a faction of Alliance for Democracy, the Justice Party, the Advance Congress of Democrats, and several other minor political parties in September 2006. The party controlled Lagos. It was regarded as a natural successor to the progressive politics more closely associated with the Action Group and Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) led by Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the First and Second Republics respectively. However, criticism of the party's more pragmatic and less ideological political outlook associated with AG and UPN, has made many argue it was less of a worthy political heir. The Party had strong presence in the South West, Mid-West and North Central Regions. Lagos, Edo, Ekiti, Kogi, Ondo, Bauchi, Plateau, Niger, Adamawa, Oyo and Osun states by far accounts for majority of the party's presence and discernible power base.

Kingsley Moghalu Nigerian political economist

Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu is a Nigerian political economist, Presidential Aspirant 2023, Lawyer, Author, Ifekaego of Nnewi Kingdom, former United Nations official, and politician. He served as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, appointed by President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, from 2009 to 2014. He subsequently taught at Tufts University as Professor of Practice in International Business and Public Policy at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy from 2015 to 2017. He was the presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the country's general election in February 2019.

George Adesola Oguntade, is a retired Nigerian jurist who served as Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria from May 19, 2004 to May 10, 2010 and is Nigeria's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

Oluremi Comfort Sonaiya, is a Nigerian politician, educationalist and writer. She was Nigeria's only female presidential candidate in the 2015 general election under the platform of the KOWA Party. But recently lost her bid to Dr. Adesina Fagbenro Byron in representing the party again in 2019 election.

Lateef Raji Nigerian politician

Lateef Oludare Raji was a former adviser on information and strategy to former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola. He was also a commissioner to former Lagos state Governor Bola Tinubu. He was a serving member of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission committee (LASIEC) before his death.

2019 Nigerian general election Elections in Nigeria held in 2019

General elections were held in Nigeria on 23 February 2019 to elect the President, Vice President, House of Representatives and the Senate. The elections had initially been scheduled for 16 February, but the Electoral Commission postponed the vote by a week at 03:00 on the original polling day, citing logistical challenges in getting electoral materials to polling stations on time. In some places, the vote was delayed until 24 February due to electoral violence. Polling in some areas was subsequently delayed until 9 March, when voting was carried out alongside gubernatorial and state assembly elections.

Gbadebowale Aboderin was a Nigerian journalist, businessman and sports administrator, who was until his death the chairman of Punch Nigeria Limited, a publishing house founded by his father. 2019 Lagos State gubernatorial election 2019 election to choose the Governor of Lagos State

The 2019 Lagos gubernatorial election was conducted on March 9 to choose the Governor of Lagos State. The election was held concurrently with various state level elections. Incumbent APC Governor Akinwunmi Ambode lost to the APC flag bearer Babajide Sanwo-Olu at a direct primary election in October 2018 and hence ineligible to run for second term under APC. Babajide Sanwo-Olu won in a landslide against Jimi Agbaje of the PDP who had previously run unsuccessfully for Lagos state governor twice. From 1999, Lagos state has been governed by AD, then ACN, two parties which subsequently formed part of the coalition that birthed the APC in 2014.

Obafemi Onashile Oluwole is a Nigerian quantity surveyor. He is the past President of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS).

The Young Progressives Party, commonly known as the YPP, is a social-democratic political party in Nigeria. The party was created to challenge the two major contemporary parties in Nigeria namely the People's Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress. In its manifesto, it called for concerted efforts to improve welfare, fight for social justice and provide equality of opportunities for all citizens in Nigeria. The Young Progressive Party won one seat out of the 109 seats in the Nigerian Senate during the 2019 general elections.

The Oshodi–Apapa Expressway was constructed between 1975 and 1978 as a major route to Tincan and Apapa Port and also a major route into the country from Murtala Mohammed International Airport. As a result of neglect and so many years of the expressway, it however virtually collapsed, causing the drainage system to also collapse completely. –
