Aegean Speed Lines is a Greek ferry company that was operating high-speed ferry services between Piraeus and the Cyclades.
Aegean Speed Lines were formed in 2005 as a joint venture between Sea Containers and the Eugenides Group. Aegean Speed Lines were the first ferry company in Greece to use a European Union flag vessel on a domestic route following deregulation of ferry services in Greece. [1] Sea Containers sold its share in 2006 leaving the Eugenides Group as the major shareholder.
Aegean Speed Lines began operations using a single high speed catamaran Speedrunner I. Following two successful seasons a Fincantieri built monohull Speedrunner II joined the fleet in 2007. On 2008, the company sold Speedrunner I. In 2009 two more monohulls Speedrunner III and Speedruner IV joined the fleet. In 2015 and 2016 respectively, the company sold the Speedrunner II and the Speedrunner IV. In 2022 the company decided to stop the operations with her only remaining ship in her fleet Speedrunner III and Aegean Speed Lines sold her ship to Seajets. In 2023 Aegean Speed Lines bought the ship MS Rosella and renamed her Anemos.

Hoverspeed was a ferry company that operated on the English Channel from 1981 until 2005. It was formed in 1981 by the merger of Seaspeed and Hoverlloyd. Its last owners were Sea Containers; the company ran a small fleet of two high-speed SeaCat catamaran ferries in its final year.
MS Anemos is a cruiseferry, built in 1980 by Wärtsilä Turku shipyard, Finland for SF Line, one of the owners of the Viking Line consortium. She served as Rosella on Viking Line's Kapellskär–Mariehamn route before being sold to Aegean Speed Lines as Anemos in January 2023.

Minoan Lines is one of the largest passenger ferry companies in Europe, and one of the dominant passenger ferry companies in Greece, sailing between Piraeus and Crete and in the Adriatic Sea, between Patras and various Italian ports. The company was founded in May 1972. Since 2008 Grimaldi's Compagnia di Navigazione SpA owns and controls 95.9 of the stock of Minoan Lines.
SS Heraklion was a roll on/roll off car ferry operating the lines Piraeus – Chania and Piraeus – Irakleio between 1965 and 1966. The ship capsized and sank on 8 December 1966 in the Aegean Sea, resulting in the death of over 200 people. Her demise was one of the greatest maritime disasters in Greek history.
The MS Pride of Winchester, was a UK Ro-Ro/Passenger ferry, which was part of P&O European Ferries' fleet. She was built in 1975 by Aalborg as the Viking Viscount for Townsend Thoresen and was put into service by P&O European Ferries in 1989, when European Ferries Group was purchased by P&O. She was named after Winchester, a city in Hampshire, England.
HSC Speedrunner Jet is a fast ferry owned by Seajets thαt operates between Sitia, Kasos, Karpathos, Chalki and Rhodos. She was built in 1999 at Fincantieri, Riva Trigoso, Italy, for Sea Containers as HSC SuperSeaCat Three. Under that name she sailed on Sea Container's services around the British Isles, as well as with its subsidiaries Silja Line and SuperSeaCat on the Baltic Sea.
Super Runner Jet is a fast ferry owned and operated by Seajets. She was built in 1999 at Fincantieri, Riva Trigoso, Italy, for Sea Containers, but entered service only in 2000 for Sea Container's subsidiary Silja Line. In 2006 she was transferred to another Sea Containers subsidiary, SuperSeaCat. In 2009 she began service with Aegean Speed Lines between Piraeus, Serifos, Sifnos, Milos, Kimolos, Folegandros and Sikinos, as well as Paros and Naxos. In 2016, she was sold to Golden Star Ferries and renamed it Super Runner. In June 2021 Golden Star Ferries sold to Seajets her ships Superferry II, Superspeed, Supercat and Super Runner. Seajets renamed it Super Runner Jet.
SuperSeaCat was a shipping company operating fast ferries between Helsinki, Finland and Tallinn, Estonia during the years 2006–2008. It was jointly owned by Sea Containers and the Greece-based Aegean Speed Lines.
NEL LINES was established in 1972, as a company of popular base with shareholders the residents of Lesvos island and primary aim the purchase of a liner vessel for the Mitilini-Chios-Piraeus route. Since then, the company has expanded, serving most of the Aegean sea destinations.
The MDV 1200 class fast ferry is a class of six vessels built by Fincantieri in Italy. Four of these vessels were for Sea Containers, with the other two vessels being for Ocean Bridge Investments.
Attica Holdings S.A. is an operator of international ferry services in Europe. The Group's operations include its subsidiaries Superfast Ferries, which began in 1995 with the launch of its first ships, Superfast I & Superfast II, and Blue Star Ferries which operates ferries in the Aegean Sea to the Greek islands. In June 2018 Attica Group increased its share in Hellenic Seaways to 98.83%. It also has a partnership in Africa Morocco Link which operates mainly in the Strait of Gibraltar. In Sept 2022 it absorbed 57.70% of ANEK Lines stocks, rendering the operator number two in the number of passengers commuted in Europe.
Naxos Jet is a high speed catamaran operated by Seajets in the Aegean.

Golden Star Ferries is a Greek ferry company operating from the Greek mainland to the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. Golden Star Ferries was founded in 2011 by Andriot brothers Giorgos and Dimitris Stephanou, who also own the Bright Navigation shipping freight company.
Blue Star 1 is a Greek ferry, which is owned by Blue Star Ferries and currently being chartered by Irish Ferries. She is a motor Ro-Ro/Passenger ferryboat, built in 2000 by Van der Giessen de Noord shipward in Krimpen aan den IJssel, Netherlands. She is a sistership to Blue Star 2. She holds a total of 1600 passengers and 640 vehicles and has 430 beds in 161 cabins for passengers. She has four MAN B&W 8L58 / 64 diesel engines, with combined power of 44,480 kW and reaches speeds of up to 27 knots.
Aeolos Kenteris, is an inactive passenger highspeed craft which was part of the fleet of the Lesvos Shipping Company (NEL) - NEL Lines. She was built in 2000 at Alsthom Leroux Naval S.A. of France. She could hold a total of 1742 passengers and 442 private vehicles. .She was powered by a CODAG propulsion plant, with a power of 66.2MW, two MTU GE LM2500 diesel engines with gas turbines, each with power 25,000kW at 3,600 rpm, Renk BS 210 gearboxes and Kamewa 200 511 waterjets, which allowed her to reach speeds of up to 40 knots. Previously, she also had two Pielstick 20PA6B STC diesel engines with a power of 8,100kW at 1,050 rpm. each. She had seats for economy and 1st class passengers, bar for economy and 1st class passengers, 127 satellite TVs, headphones with music in the seats, elevator for passengers, escalator, reception, Jewellery safekeeping room, telephone and toilets. She took its name from Aeolus, the mythical treasurer of the winds according to Greek Mythology, but also Costas Kenteris, a modern Greek runner.
