Ahetuk (Assamese : অহেতুক) is a 2015 Indian Assamese language romantic thriller film directed by Bani Das, veteran Assamese film director and a screenwriter who delivered the Assamese audiences some blockbusters like Maharathi, Mon, Kadambari. His movies are popularly known for an individualistic stamp of visual splendor which is a combine package of romance, action and drama. Ahetuk is another entertainment package, with Gunjan Bhardwaj and Amrita Gogoi in lead role. Actor Tapan Das is also playing an important character in this film. A deep quest for the meaning of those aspects of life which are really meaningless! The story is about two passionate journalists Raj (Gunjan Bhardwaj) and Joyeeta (Amrita Gogoi) who set out to get at the truth of a story to the extent of putting their lives in jeopardy. At the end, surprisingly, they find they have been used by certain vested interests. The step they would take thereafter is something none could fathom. The moral of the story—people or the society must not play with the budding minds or sentiments of Gen X or the younger generation.

Ajan Faquir Saheb is an Assamese language biographical film produced by Bani Kalita and directed by Asif Iqbal Hussain. The film was released on 25 April 2008. The film is based on the life of Ajan Fakir, the Sufi saint and poet who came to Assam from Baghdad.

Avataran is an upcoming Assamese-language science fiction film directed and produced by Tarunabh Dutta under the banner of TD Film Studio Productions. The film features Reema Kaif, Ananya Parashar, Devyam Seal, Govind Malakar, Rimpi Das, Saurabh Hazarika, Pranjal Saikia, Purnima Saikia and Sameer Ranjane. The Prag Cine Awards North-East 2015 ceremony, presented by the Prag Network, honored the actors, technical achievements, and films censored in 2014 from Assam and rest of Northeast India, and took place on March 21–22, 2015, at the Chowkidingee field in Dibrugarh, Assam. This was the first time when films produced in other Northeastern states were also honored in this ceremony. Assamese actress Nishita Goswami and television host Nabish Alam hosted the show. Film fraternities from Northeast as well as Bollywood personalities such as Neha Dhupia, Gulshan Grover, Adil Hussain were present in this event.

Doordarshan Eti Jantra(English: Television a Machine) is a 2016 Indian Assamese language period comedy drama film directed by Rajesh Bhuyan and produced by Sanjiv Narain under the banner of AM Television. The story is based on National School of Drama's alumnus Himanshu Prasad Das's play Ekhon Gaonot Eta TV Asil. Director Rajesh Bhuyan is also the co screenplay writer along with Santanu Rowmuria. The original playwright Himanshu Prasad Das, and Santanu Rowmuria wrote the dialogues of the film. The film stars many of the renowned actors of Assamese film industry including Jatin Bora, Utpal Das, Prastuti Porasor and Moonmi Phukan in lead role. Released on 2 September 2016 in almost 50 theaters in Assam and Meghalaya (Shillong), the film has already become a superhit in Assam.

Biswajeet Bora is an Indian film director, producer, writer, and editor based in Mumbai. His directorial debut was in 2015 with Aisa Yeh Jahaan, India's first movie to be carbon neutral during production.
