Zaidiyyah or Zaidism is one of the Shia sects closest in terms of theology to the Ibadi and Mutazila schools. Zaidiyyah emerged in the eighth century out of Shi'a Islam. Zaidis are named after Zayd ibn ʻAlī, the grandson of Husayn ibn ʻAlī and the son of their fourth Imam Ali ibn 'Husain. Hasan Güngör was a middleweight Turkish wrestler and a wrestling coach. He won a gold medal at the 1960 Olympics and a silver medal at the 1964 Olympics, as well as multiple medals at the World, European and Balkan championships. After retiring from competitions in 1967, Güngör worked for more than 20 years as a coach of the junior and senior national teams. Güngör was married and had three children. He lived in Denizli until his death.
Hasan Mahboob Ali is a Kenyan-born Bahraini long-distance runner. He became a naturalized citizen of Bahrain ahead of the 2006 season. His personal best time for the 10,000 metres is 27:22.40 minutes, achieved in May 2012 in Wageningen.
Nesar Ahmad Bahawi, born March 27, 1984 in Kapisa Province) is an Afghan Taekwondo practitioner. He won the silver medal in the lightweight category (72 kg) at the 2007 World Taekwondo Championships, edging out 2004 Olympic Champion Hadi Saei in the semifinals. It was the second international medal for Afghanistan in any sport – the first was one by Badamgul Multazim, a heavyweight Taekwondo practitioner.
Hasan Aliyev is an Azerbaijani World and European champion Greco-Roman wrestler. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the men's Greco-Roman 60 kg division. At the 2012 Olympics, he beat Stig-André Berge in the last 16 and Jung Ji-hyun in the quarterfinals before losing to Revaz Lashkhi in the semifinal. He was entered into the repechage, where he lost his bronze medal match to Zaur Kuramagomedov.

Tontowi Ahmad is an elite Indonesian badminton player. He resides in the Central Java province. He plays for PB. Djarum, a badminton club in Kudus, Central Java and joined the club in 2005. Tontowi Ahmad rose to prominence in the world badminton in 2010 when he paired with the established mixed doubles star Liliyana Natsir. With Natsir he won the 2016 Olympic gold medal in the mixed doubles category.
Vaughn Scott is a male Taekwondo fighter who represented New Zealand at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London in the Men's 80kg weight class. He lost his first round fight to Argentine Sebastián Crismanich by a score of 9-5. Because Crismanich went on to win the gold medal, Scott was included in the repechage and lost his fight to Afghan Nesar Ahmad Bahave by a score of 11-6, and was eliminated from the Olympic tournament.
Hasli Izwan Amir Hasan is a Malaysian sport shooter. He won two medals, gold and silver, in the men's rapid fire pistol at the Southeast Asian Games. He also captured a silver medal in the same event at the 2007 Asian Shooting Championships in Kuwait City, Kuwait, with a total score of 776.6 points, earning him a spot on the Malaysian team for the Olympics.
Ahmad Amsyar bin Azman is a Malaysian diver. Azman was in 12th place in the preliminary round of the 3m springboard within the 2016 Olympic Games, but after his dive went wrong, he was knocked out of the contest.
Ahmad Abughaush is a Jordanian taekwondo athlete. He won the gold medal in the 68 kg category at the 2016 Olympics. This was Jordan's first Olympic medal in any sport, excluding a bronze in 1988 when taekwondo was a demonstration sport.
