Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli CFR (born 8 June 1966) is a Nigerian lawyer,banker and diplomat. He is the former Nigerian ambassador to Thailand with concurrent accreditation to Myanmar, [1] and the current 19th Fulani Emir of Zazzau,a Nigerian traditional state with headquarters in Zaria,Kaduna State,Nigeria. [2] He is the first Emir from the Mallawa ruling house to be enthroned in a century after the dethronement of his grandfather,Emir Alu Dan Sidi in 1920. [3]
Bamalli was born in Kwarbai Zaria,Kaduna State,Nigeria. He is the second son of Nuhu Bamalli (who once served as Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs). He obtained (LLB) law degree in 1989 from at Ahmadu Bello University,and his master's degree in international affairs and diplomacy from the same university in 2002. He obtained a post graduate diploma in management from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 1998. [4] [5] He also attended a fellowship on conflict resolution at the University of York in 2009 and completed a diploma in organizational leadership from the University of Oxford in 2015. He also completed the General Management Program (GMP) at Harvard Business School in 2011. [6]
Bamalli worked for the Metropolitan Management Agency before becoming head of human resources at Mtel,the mobile communication arm of the old Nigerian Telecommunications Limited. [7]
He also worked in banking and as executive director and later acting managing director of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company Limited. [8]
He was permanent commissioner in the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission in 2015. [9] Until his appointment as the new emir of Zazzau,Bamalli held the title of Magajin Garin Zazzau and served as Nigeria's Ambassador to Thailand,with concurrent accreditation to Myanmar. [10]
He was appointed as the new Emir of Zazzau by Nasir el-Rufai,Governor of Kaduna State on 7 October 2020. He is the second son of Nuhu Bamalli (Magajin Garin Zazzau). [11] [12] [13]
Bamalli is the first emir from Mallawa ruling house in 100 years,following the demise of Alh Shehu Idris. [6]
In October 2022,a Nigerian national honor of Commander Of The Order Of The Federal Republic (CFR) was conferred on him by President Muhammadu Buhari. [14]

Barewa College is a college in Zaria,Kaduna State,northern Nigeria. Founded in 1921 by British Governor General Hugh Clifford,it was originally known as Katsina College. It switched its name to Kaduna College in 1938 and to Government College,Zaria in 1949 before settling on Barewa College. Shehu Idris was a Nigerian teacher who served as the 18th Emir of Zazzau,a Nigerian traditional state headquartered in Zaria. He also served as chairman of Zazzau Emirate Council and Kaduna State Council of Chiefs. A member of the Fula people,he ascended the throne on 8 February 1975 following the demise of Alhaji Muhammadu Aminu,his predecessor. Idris was the longest reigning monarch in the history of the Zazzau emirate,having reigned for 45 years from 1975 to 2020. He was succeeded by Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli as the 19th Emir of Zazzau.

Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic is a tertiary education institution in Zaria Kaduna State,Nigeria. The polytechnic was established on 2 February 1989 by the Kaduna state government to provide training and development techniques in the Field of engineering,applied science,commerce and other spheres of learning. The polytechnic is one of the tertiary teaching institutions owned and managed by the Kaduna State government. The polytechnic was named after the then Nigeria's foreign minister Nuhu Bamalli. In August 2022,Barrister Abdullahi Zubair Abdullahi was appointed the new Registrar of the polytechnic.
Sultan Bello Mosque also known as The Kaduna Central Mosque,is one of the largest mosques in Kaduna State,Nigeria,built in 1962. It is named after the then Sultan of Sokoto,Muhammadu Bello the son of Usman dan Fodio. The university has over 400 postgraduate programmes reflecting its strife to become a postgraduate studies-centred university. The university operates from two campuses in the ancient cosmopolitan city of Zaria,the Samaru Campus where the Senate Building and most of the faculties are located and the Kongo Campus,hosting the faculties of Law and Administration. The Kaduna Metropolitan Authorities in Kaduna State,Nigeria were originally known as local government or native authorities. The local government authorities were established during British colonial rule in Nigeria. The local government authority was headed by a district head. The authority was established to manage taxation,the production of cash crops,and their export to Britain. The authority in Kaduna City became obsolete in 1979,however,it was reintroduced in 2021 during Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai's administration.

He retired from the Nigeria Customs Service in 2020 and had risen to the management rank of Assistant Controller General Of Customs (ACG). His retirement opened up an opportunity for him to join politics where he contested for primary election for Kaduna State Governorship position under All Progressives Congress (APC),where he emerged as 1st runner-up.
