Al Noor Mosque (Arabic : جَامِع ٱلنُّوْر, romanized: Jāmiʿ An-Nūr) is a mosque in Sharjah, the U.A.E., located on the Khaled lagoon at the Buhaira Corniche. [2] It is of Turkish Ottoman design and was influenced by the Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Turkey. [1] [3] It is one of the mosques open to the public in Sharjah, which has over 600 total. [1] [4] [5]
In 2014 the mosque set a Guinness World Record for the "World's largest wooden charity box" for their Ramadan donation campaign. [6] [7]
The United Arab Emirates is a country in the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula located on the southeastern coast of the Persian Gulf and the northwestern coast of the Gulf of Oman. The UAE consists of seven emirates and was founded on 2 December 1971 as a federation, after UK armed forces left the region. Six of the seven emirates declared their union on 2 December 1971. The seventh, Ras al Khaimah, joined the federation on 10 February 1972. Khor Fakkan is a city and an exclave of the Emirate of Sharjah, located on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), facing the Gulf of Oman, and geographically surrounded by the Emirate of Fujairah. The city, the second largest on the east coast after Fujairah City, is set on the bay of Khor Fakkan, which means "Creek of Two Jaws". It is the site of Khor Fakkan Container Terminal, the only natural deep-sea port in the region and one of the major container ports in the UAE. The Port of Khor Fakkan faces the Emirate of Sharjah’s eastern seaboard, extending connections with Asia and the Far East. This port is one of the Emirate’s three ports.

The festival was first established in 2010 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and has since become an integral part of the city's cultural landscape.
