Al Sadd Futsal Team is part of the Al Sadd Sports Club in Qatar. It is a futsal team based in Doha, Qatar and it plays its home matches in the Jassim bin Hamad Indoor Hall. Al Sadd have been the most successful team in the Qatar professional futsal league since its inauguration in 2006/2007, winning it a total of four times. [1]

Al Sadd participated in the 2010 AFC Futsal Club Championship. They topped their group and advanced to the semi-finals where they beat Nagoya Oceans by a margin of 7–4. They subsequently lost 5–2 to Foolad Mahan in Tehran in the final. No other Qatari club has ever reached the finals of the AFC Futsal Club Championship since its inauguration in 2010.

The team was inaugurated in the Guinness Book of World Records in March 2014 for winning 34 matches in a row from January 2012 to March 2013, the most consecutive matches any futsal team has ever won. [2]

Al Rayyan Futsal Team is part of Al Rayyan Sports Club in Qatar. It is based in Umm Al Afaei, Al Rayyan. The team was founded in 2006. Since the Qatar professional futsal league started in 2006/2007, Al Rayyan were the main force in Qatar. They won the first Qatar professional league when it first started in 2006/2007. Al Rayyan won the first Qatar Association Cup in 2008/2009, beating Qatar SC 7–5 in the final. In addition to the first league and cup titles, Al Rayyan secured the first Qatar Futsal Super Cup in 2010/2011 after beating Al Sadd 3–2 in a thrilling encounter. In the first time in the history of futsal in Qatar, the winner of the league would be decided by a play-off. Al Rayyan subsequently won their third league title by beating Al Gharafa 3–2 and 4–3 in both final games sealing their second consecutive league title.

In the 2011–12 season, Al Sadd SC competed in the Qatar Stars League for the 39th season, as well as the Emir of Qatar Cup the Crown Prince Cup and the Champions League.

The fixture between Al-Duhail and Al Sadd is a local derby in Doha, Qatar and a fierce rivalry. The derby does not have a common name. Since the establishment of Al-Duhail, the matches between the two teams have become the most important in Qatar. The two teams have won the Qatar Stars League title 22 times, the Emir of Qatar Cup 21 times, the Qatar Cup (ex) Crown Prince Cup 11 times, and Sheikh Jassim Cup 17 times. On the continental level Al Sadd won the AFC Champions League twice and the Arab Champions League once.
