Alabama Luella Barker (born December 24, 2005) is an American Influencer, Internet personality, singer and rapper. She is the youngest child and only biological daughter of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and his ex-wife, actress Shanna Moakler [8] [9] In 2022, her father married Kourtney Kardashian, making Alabama her step-daughter. [10] [11] [12]

Contents

Alabama Barker was born during the last season of her family's TV show, Meet the Barkers [13] [8] She was named after the character of Alabama Whitman from the 1993 Quentin Tarantino and Tony Scott film, True Romance . [13]

Early life

Alabama Luella Barker was born December 24, 2005 in Calabasas, California, [9] [8] during the second and final season of her family's TV show, Meet the Barkers . [13] [8] Less than a year after her birth, in 2006, her parents Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler divorced. [8] Her father re-married in 2022 to Reality star Kourtney Kardashian in which Alabama was a bridesmaid at their wedding. [13] [12] [14]

In 2021 it was reported Alabama and her mother, Shanna Moakler, had little to no contact with each other. Alabama publicly stated "My mom has never completely been in my life." [15] Alabama's brother, Landon Barker, also confirmed this saying their mother "isn't in (their) lives" [16] [17]

Alabama started learning the drums, piano and how to sing at the age of 5. [13] When she was 12, she released her first singles "Our House" and "Heartbreaker", [13] [18] [19] followed by several holiday songs in 2018 [13]

Music career

Alabama released her first singles at the age of 12 on YouTube which have now been deleted and re-uploaded by other accounts [18] [19] In December 2024, she made her rap debut with her single titled "Vogue" [20] and shared online that she was "influenced by rap my entire upbringing and punk rock", referring to her dad's career [13]

Health

On February 4, 2023, Alabama uploaded a question and answer (Q&A) video on YouTube where she shared that she suffered from "really bad anxiety" her whole life [21]

In August 2023, Barker revealed she struggles with Autoimmune disease and Thyroid disease in response to online criticism about her weight and body shaming [22] [23]

Controversy

Accusations of cultural appropriation

Barker has been surrounded by an abundance of Cultural appropriation accusations and most specifically, blackfishing accusations online. [24] [25] [ unreliable source? ] One user noted that she will "go back to her white self" and that this is the same formula that celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Jack Harlow and Post Malone have used in the past [26] . Alabama defends these accusations, and claiming she was "influenced by rap" [27] [13] . Many also citing Barker's actions are somewhat reminiscent to her step-aunt Kylie Jenner's "king kylie era" from 2014-2017 in which Kylie was accused of cultural appropriation multiple times. [28] [29] [ unreliable source? ]

Bhad Bhabie (Danielle Bregoli)

In December 2024, Alabama became a massive topic of conversation on the online platform TikTok after she was called a homewrecker by rapper Danielle Bregoli (also known as Bhad Bhabie) on Instagram Live for allegedly having sex with Danielle's then-boyfriend and father to her child, Le Vaughn, [30] [31] whilst Danielle was in treatment for cancer and the couple had spent weeks apart after a "physical altercation" [32]

Alabama claimed that when she met Le Vaughn, he told her he wasn't in a relationship anymore in which Danielle responded to this saying Barker was a "serial homewrecker".

Alabama wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post, "I want to be clear: I have no interest in this man, nor would I ever lower myself to be with someone who has been physically abusive towards women" [33] and also claimed she had been to Danielle's house one time but she never saw Le Vaughn, also stating "I'm not looking to wreck anyone's home or family. I don't get any cool points from that and I don't benefit from it all. I also would never date this man." [33]

Alabama still claimed that when she met Le Vaughn in Vegas, he continued to lie to her and say he was single. [33] Barker also claimed that she and Bregoli were never friends and "more like acquaintances than anything". [33] [34]

OnlyFans, The Bop House and Camilla Araujo

Alabama Barker's Response

After the Bhad Bhabie Controversy, OnlyFans creator Camilla Araujo responded to a comment on one of her videos on Tiktok stating they should add Alabama Barker to The Bop House, a content house with several prominent OnlyFans creators of which Araujo is a part of herself. [35] In the video, Camilla said no and stated her reasoning as to Alabama being a Homewrecker, to which Alabama replied in the comments of that video "I'm gonna hold your hand when I say this... babe I would never!" [36] [37]

Araujo then replied to Alabama's comment in another video where she called Barker a "Nepo baby" due to Barker's famous parents and step-mother. [13] [38] In response to this, Alabama said in her own video, "I sure am a nepo baby. A proud one, too" before adding, "I'm proud not to be on OnlyFans" and uploaded another video to the app with the caption "Proud to be a Nepo baby, not an OF baby." [36]

Camilla Araujo's response to Alabama's comments was to bring up that Alabama's aunt, Kim Kardashian, has her own public sex tape with her ex-boyfriend Ray J. [39] [40] [41] This led fans to also point out that Barker's mother, Shanna Moakler, was a former Playboy Bunny model and even uses the platform OnlyFans herself. Whilst Kim Kardashian has never been on OnlyFans, she also posed for Playboy magazine in 2007 in an article titled "Crazy for Kim" following the release of her sex tape. [42] [43]

This feud finally ended when Araujo uploaded a story to Snapchat to expose the inappropriate content Barker posted on her Close Friends Instagram story. She blurred out the original photo for privacy, but exclaimed sarcastically, "for free pookie?" [41]

Hospitalisation for nicotine withdrawal

In December 2024, TMZ reported that Barker was taken to hospital after calling 9-1-1 herself over having nicotine withdrawal. [44] They claimed Alabama quit vaping around a month ago and afterwards got nicotine withdrawal and decided to call the emergency services and hospitalise herself. [44] Alabama has soon after commented on the incident, saying "I was not in the hospital this month or last. The situation occurred some time ago" and that the hospital "provided me with a nicotine patch and an inhaler, and that's all". [45]
