Alan Michael Forney (born June 28, 1960) is an American former competitive rower and Olympic silver medalist.

At the 1984 Summer Olympics, Forney finished in 2nd place in the men's coxless four competition with David Clark, Jonathan Smith, and Phillip Stekl. [1]

Forney High School is a public secondary school located in Forney, Texas, United States. It is one of two high schools in the Forney Independent School District which serves Forney, Talty, the small Kaufman County portion of Mesquite, and some surrounding unincorporated areas of Kaufman County. Because of immense growth over the past years, a bond was approved to begin construction of a second high school in May 2007. US Highway 80 serves as the boundary between the two high schools. Beginning in 2009, North Forney High School only housed freshmen and sophomores so the first graduating class will be in 2012. In 2011, the school was rated "Academically Acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.

Alan Blair Thompson is a sprint canoeist who competed in the early to mid-1980s. He competed at three Olympic Games (1980–1988) and won two Olympic gold medals for New Zealand.

David Robert Clark is a United States rower. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and lives in Longmont, Colorado. Clark was the stroke on the U.S. national crew which finished third in the World Rowing Championships in Munich, Germany in 1981. He also rowed on the four-oared crew that finished 7th in the World Rowing Championships in New Zealand 1983. Clark earned a silver medal with the U.S. team in the men's coxless four at the 1984 Summer Olympics with Jonathan Smith, Philip Stekl, and Alan Forney. Their time of 6:06.10 was less than three seconds behind the victorious New Zealand team of Shane O'Brien, Les O'Connell, Conrad Robertson, and Keith Trask, which finished at 6:03.48.
