Albania has an embassy in Lisbon and 3 honorary consulates in Porto, Funchal and in the island of Madeira. Portugal has an honorary consulate in Tirana. [1] [2] The history of diplomatic relations of Albania and Portugal dates back to 1922, when Portugal recognized Albania's independence on May 25, 1922.
The countries are both members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). As a European Union (EU) member, Portugal supports Albania in its euro-integration path. [3]
In 2010, the bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry Cusmara de Comércio e Industria Luso Albanesa has been founded. In 2016, Portugal has exported carriage in worth of 6.10 million euros (compared in 2012 only 2.16 million euros) to Albania. 31.8% of the products were chemical-pharmaceutical products mostly from the BIAL company, 19.2% agricultural products, 14.7% metal products, 13.3% paper and cellulose and 5.4% machinery and equipment. The Luso-Albanian Foundation, Luso-Illyrian Institute for Human Development (iLIDH) founded in 2007, is considered one of the major cultural bilateral relationships between Albania and Portugal. The foundation initiates and supports a variety of projects in education, culture, sciences, research and development cooperation, particularly in administration and organization management. In 2012, an office was opened in Tirana. There are also offices in Prague and Brussels. [5]
Foreign relations of Latvia are the primary responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Today's Republic of Latvia regards itself as a continuation of the 1918–1940 republic. After the declaration on the restoration of its full independence on August 21, 1991, Latvia became a member of the United Nations on September 17, 1991, and is a signatory to a number of UN organizations and other international agreements. Latvia welcomes further cooperation and integration with NATO, European Union, OECD and other Western organizations. It also seeks more active participation in UN peacekeeping efforts worldwide.
The foreign relations of Albania are its relations with other governments and peoples. Foreign relations are conducted through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tirana. The current minister is Igli Hasani. The current Ambassador to the United Nations is Ferit Hoxha.

Canadian–Cypriot relations are foreign relations between Canada and Cyprus. Canadian bilateral political relations with Cyprus stemmed initially from Cypriot Commonwealth membership at independence in 1960. These relations quickly expanded in 1964 when Canada became a major troop contributor to United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus. The participation lasted for the next 29 years, during which 50,000 Canadian soldiers served and 28 were killed. In large measure Canadian relations with Cyprus continue to revolve around support for the ongoing efforts of the UN, G8 and others to resolve the island's divided status. Contacts with Cyprus on other issues also take place in international organizations such as the UN, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the Commonwealth of Nations.
Albania–United Kingdom relations are the bilateral relations between Albania and the United Kingdom. Albania has an embassy in London, and the United Kingdom has an embassy in Tirana.
Malta–Portugal relations are foreign relations between Malta and Portugal. Malta has an embassy in Lisbon and 4 honorary consulates. Portugal is accredited to Malta from its embassy in Rome, Italy. Both countries are full members of the European Union, Council of Europe, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and Union for the Mediterranean.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Croatia were established on August 25, 1992. Albania has an embassy in Zagreb and an honorary consulate in Dubrovnik while Croatia has an embassy in Tirana.
Albania and Canada are members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Canada supports Albania in its euro-integration path.
Albania has an embassy in Bucharest and Romania an embassy in Tirana and a consulate in Korçë. On 16 December 2013, a celebration was held in Romania celebrating the hundredth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Albania has an embassy in Rome and two general consulates in Bari and Milan. Italy has an embassy in Tirana and a general consulate in Vlorë.
Japan's ambassador in Rome is accredited to Albania, while an honorary consulate in Tirana assists Japanese interests in Albania.
Albania and Egypt have cordial and cooperative relations. Albania has an embassy in Cairo, and Egypt has an embassy in Tirana. Diplomatic relations between Albania and Egypt were established in 1958. Both countries are members of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
Albania–Slovenia relations are diplomatic relations between the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Slovenia. Albania has an embassy in Ljubljana and Slovenia has an embassy in Tirana. Both countries established diplomatic relations on 9 March 1992.
The diplomatic relations between Albania and Ukraine were established in 1922. In September 2020, Ukraine opened an embassy in Tirana. Albania is accredited to Ukraine from its embassy in Warsaw, Poland and has an honorary consulate in Kharkiv.

Albania has an embassy in Vienna and 7 honorary consulates in Eisenstadt, Gössendorf, Graz, Grödig, Salzburg, St. Pölten and Villach. Austria has an embassy in Tirana. The history of diplomatic relations of Albania and Austria dates back to 1912, when Albania declared its independence on November 28, 1912. As a European Union (EU) member, Austria supports Albania in its euro-integration path.
Portugal-Sweden relations are foreign relations between Portugal and Sweden. Portugal has an embassy in Stockholm. Sweden has an embassy in Lisbon and 3 honorary consulates. Both countries are full members of the United Nations, European Union, NATO, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and Council of Europe. Portugal strongly supported Sweden's NATO membership during the latter's accession process.
