Albert Reynolds (born 28 March 1988) is a Saint Lucian javelin thrower. Reynolds was born in Castries, and grew up in Babonneau. [1]
Reynolds holds the Saint Lucia national record and Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States record for men's javelin throw, throwing 77.71 m (254 ft 11+1⁄4 in) at the 2015 NACAC Championships in Athletics in San Jose, Costa Rica, winning the bronze medal. [2] He is the first Saint Lucian to hold the OECS record for Javelin Throw.
Reynolds attended Babonneau Secondary School and was Saint Lucia's high school champion. He went on to win gold at the 2007 CARIFTA Games. [3]
At the senior level, Reynolds has represented Saint Lucia at the Commonwealth Games, Central American and Caribbean Games, Central American and Caribbean Championships, Pan American Sports Festival, Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Championships, and North and Central American and Caribbean Championships. He has won medals at the OECS Championships [4] and NACAC Championships.
In 2013 and 2014, Reynolds was named Senior Athlete Of The Year by the Saint Lucia Athletics Association. [5]
Since 2015, Reynolds has trained under Roger Gravenois of Club Asco Inter Atlas in the French overseas department of Martinique.
At the 2019 World Athletics Championships, Reynolds finished 29th.

Saint Lucia sent a delegation to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The 2008 Saint Lucian team included four athletes that competed in two sports: swimming and athletics. Of these four athletes, Danielle Beaubrun, at age 18, was the youngest of the competitors. Dominic Johnson, at age 32, was the oldest, and was the only man sent as part of the 2008 delegation; additionally, Johnson was the only Saint Lucian athlete in the 2008 delegation who had previously participated in the Olympics.

The North American, Central American and Caribbean Championships is a continental track and field athletics event organised by the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association. The last of the six IAAF areas to hold a continental senior athletics competition, the NACAC Championships' inaugural edition was held in 2007 in San Salvador, El Salvador. Three hundred athletes competed at the 2007 Championships and a total of 26 nations were represented. The United States dominated the first edition with a total of 43 medals, including 28 gold medals. Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago took second and third places with totals of 20 and 11 medals, respectively.

The St. Lucia Athletics Association (SLAA) is the national governing body for athletics in Saint Lucia, inclusive of track and field, cross country running, road running and racewalking. The Athletics Association was formerly known as the St. Lucia Amateur Athletics Association. The organisation was founded in 1977 to promote Track and Field in Saint Lucia. In 1978 the SLAA became an affiliate member of the world governing body for athletics, then called the International Amateur Athletics Federation, and now known as the International Association of Athletics Federations.
The NACAC U23 Championships in Athletics is an under-23 athletics competition held between the member associations of the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC). Rules and regulations were approved at an extraordinary meeting of the members attending the XVIII Central American and Caribbean Games in Maracaibo, Venezuela held on August 18, 1998. First, the competition was open for athletes aged under-25. The Congress held on the island of Grenada on July 3, 2003, resulted in the reduction of the age limit for its bi-annual championships to athletes under-23 years of age in the year of competition.
