Albert Tetteh Nyakotey (born 10 August 1965) is a Ghanaian politician who is a member of the National Democratic Congress. He is the member of parliament for the Yilo Krobo constituency in the Eastern Region of Ghana. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Tetteh hails from Somanya,a town in the Eastern Region. He holds a Commonwealth Executive MBA in Management. [5]
He holds BA in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Ghana. He has Management Training Certificates from a number of Universities in the United States and United Kingdom. He pursued his doctorate degree in Business Management from the Swiss Management Center. [2]
He donated ten LED bulbs to the University of Environment and Sustainable Development to help the university's electrification project. [6]

The Eastern Region is located in the Eastern part of Ghana and is one of the sixteen administrative regions of Ghana. Eastern region is bordered to the east by the Lake Volta,to the north by Bono East Region and Ashanti region,to the west by Ashanti region,to the south by Central region and Greater Accra Region. Yilo Krobo Municipal District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region,Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Yilo Krobo District,which it was created from the former Kaoga District Council,until it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 6 February 2012 to become Yilo Krobo Municipal District. The municipality is located in the eastern part of Eastern Region and has Somanya as its capital town.
The Yilo Krobo constituency is in the Eastern region of Ghana. The current member of Parliament for the constituency is Albert Tetteh Nyakotey. He was elected on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and won a majority of 4,687 votes more than candidate closest in the race,to win the constituency election to become the MP. He had represented the constituency in the 4th Republican parliament.

He will be a member of the sixth parliament of the fourth Republic of Ghana after the new parliament is sworn in on 7 January 2013 upon the dissolution of the fifth parliament at midnight on 6 January 2013. According to official results released by the Electoral Commission of Ghana,Amoatey won in all but 3 of the 124 polling stations of the Yilo Krobo constituency and polled a total of 26,584,representing 61.49% of valid votes cast.
