Alec Waterman (born 19 August 1996) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for Essendon in the Australian Football League (AFL).
He was initially selected at pick 76 as a father son selection by West Coast in the 2014 AFL draft but failed to play a game. After various health and injury issues, including glandular fever and a post-viral fatigue illness, he was delisted at the conclusion of the 2016 season.
After an impressive 2020 season with WAFL club Claremont, where he kicked the most goals for the season in the league, [1] he was invited to train with Essendon over the 2021 preseason. At the conclusion of the preseason he was signed by Essendon as pre-season supplemental selection. He made his debut for the Bombers in round 3, 2021 against St Kilda. He collected 12 disposals and 2 goals in a huge 75 point win for the club. On June 9, 2021 Essendon announced that Waterman had agreed to a one year deal to remain on the rookie list for the 2022 season. [2]
He is the son of former West Coast premiership player Chris Waterman, and brother of current West Coast Eagles player Jake Waterman. [3]
John Richard Worsfold is a former Australian rules football coach and player. He was the senior coach of the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) between October 2015 and September 2020. He previously had a long association with the West Coast Eagles as player (1987–1998) and coach (2002–2013), captaining the club to premierships in 1992 and 1994 and coaching the club to a premiership in 2006.
Chris Waterman is a former Australian rules football player and coach. Waterman’s playing career started in Rossmoyne’s junior football zone where he was eventually recruited by the East Fremantle Football Club at the age of fifteen. He played in the club’s Colts, Reserves and Senior line-up and finished with a total of 61 senior games. In 1988 Waterman made his AFL debut wearing a West Coast Eagles guernsey, and under the guidance of coaches John Todd and Mick Malthouse, went on to play a total of 177 matches for the club and earned "Player Life Member" status. Chris retired in 1998.
Patrick Ryder is an Australian rules footballer playing for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Formerly playing for Essendon and Port Adelaide, he was traded to St Kilda after the 2019 season. Ryder has notable speed, agility and leap for someone of his size and it is these attributes that had his first AFL coach in Kevin Sheedy compare him to Indigenous Australian rules football star Graham "Polly" Farmer. Ryder's father, Revis Ryder, played football for East Fremantle.

From Perth, Western Australia, Neates represented his state at the 2009 National Under-18 Championships, and debuted for Claremont at the senior level the following season, before being drafted with the fifth pick in the 2010 AFL Pre-season draft. For a period the shortest player on an AFL list, Neates played his first and only senior game for West Coast in round seven of the 2012 season, having missed the entire 2011 season due to injury. He was delisted by West Coast at the end of the 2012 season, but continues to play WAFL matches for Claremont.

Jake Waterman is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). Jake is the son of dual AFL Premiership defender Chris Waterman. He was drafted by West Coast with their final selection and seventy-seventh overall in the 2016 national draft as a father-son selection. He made his debut in the twenty-nine point loss to Sydney at Optus Stadium in the opening round of the 2018 season. In round 6, 2018, Waterman was nominated for the AFL Rising Star after recording fourteen disposals, five marks and two goals in the eight point win against Fremantle at Optus Stadium.
