Alejandra Quintero Velasco (born September 26, 1976) is a Mexican marketing executive, former model, and beauty pageant titleholder.

She studied marketing [ citation needed ] at Universidad Regiomontana. [1]

After Quintero competed in Miss World 1995, she became the face of Canal de las Estrellas, before beginning her career in marketing. [2] For 9 months between 2002 and 2003, she was briefly married to the singer and actor Jan. [1]

Today, she lives in Monterrey, Nuevo León with her husband, Jorge López, and their twin sons. [1] Quintero has over twenty years of experience as an international marketing executive and is currently the Chief Marketing Officer of Holcim México. [3]

Pageants

Nuestra Belleza Mundo Mexico 1995

At the age of 19, Quintero represented the Mexican state of Nuevo León and was the first winner of the Miss Mundo Mexico title, as well as being the first Neoleonesa to win. [4] The pageant was held in Toluca, Estado de México, Mexico on October 22, 1995.

She was crowned by the outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder, Luz María Zetina. [1] She was the very first titleholder from Nuestra Belleza Mundo Mexico to go on to represent Mexico at the Miss World pageant. This was the first year that the Miss World franchise had been licensed to Televisa, allowing the pageant to send representatives to this event, in addition to Miss Universe.

Miss World 1995

Quintero represented her country and placed in the semi-finals at Miss World 1995 pageant, held in Sun City, South Africa on November 18, 1995. [5] She was the first contestant to represent Mexico in fifteen years [1] and wrote about her experiences in a diary. Due to the recent acquisition of the Miss World license, Quintero only had five weeks to prepare for Miss World after winning Nuestra Belleza Mundo México. While Quintero did not win, she made it to the top 10 and met South African President Nelson Mandela, which she described at the time as one of the most significant moments of her life. [1]

Perales was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Laura Elizondo. She was the third Neoleonesa to win this title.

The 15th annual Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Arena Monterrey of Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico on September 20, 2008. Thirty-three contestants competed for the national title, which was won by Karla Carrillo from Jalisco, who later competed in Miss Universe 2009 in The Bahamas. Carrillo was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Elisa Nájera. She was the second Jalisciense to win this Title.

The 13th Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Espacio Cultural Metropolitano of Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico on September 2, 2006. Thirty contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Rosa Maria Ojeda from Sinaloa, who later competed in Miss Universe 2007 in Mexico where she was a Semifinalist in the Top 10. Ojeda was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Priscila Perales. She was the second Sinaloan to win this title.

The 16th annual Nuestra Belleza México pageant was held at the Centro de Convenciones Yucatán Siglo XXI of Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico on September 20, 2009. It was the second time there were back-to-back victories for a state in Nuestra Belleza México history: Ximena Navarrete from Jalisco was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Karla Carrillo also from Jalisco. She was the third Jalisciense to win this title. Thirty-four contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title. Navarrete competed in Miss Universe 2010 in the US and won the Universal Title.

The 17th annual Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Auditorio Parque Las Maravillas in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico on September 25, 2010. The State of Jalisco, won for the third consecutive year with Karin Ontiveros, who later competed in Miss Universe 2011 in Brazil. Ontiveros was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder and Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarrete. She was the fourth Jalisciense to win this Title. Thirty-one contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title.

The 2nd Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Teatro Morelos of Toluca, Estado de México, Mexico on October 22, 1995. Thirty-two contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Vanessa Guzmán from Chihuahua, who later competed at Miss Universe 1996 in US where she was finalist in the Top 6. Guzmán was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Luz María Zetina. She is the first blonde and only Chihuahuense to win this title.

The 3rd Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Centro de Convenciones of Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico on September 22, 1996. Thirty-two contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Rebeca Tamez from Tamaulipas, who later competed at Miss Universe 1997 in the US. Tamez was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Vanessa Guzmán and Miss Universe 1996 Alicia Machado from Venezuela. She was the first Tamaulipeca and winner of foreign descent to win this title.

The 4th Nuestra Belleza México pageant was held at the Salon Teotihuacan of the Centro Internacional de Convenciones Acapulco of Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico on September 20, 1997. Thirty-two contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Katty Fuentes from Nuevo León, who later competed at Miss Universe 1998 in the US. Fuentes was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Rebeca Tamez. She was the first Neoleonesa to win this title.

Nuestra Belleza México 1998 was the 5th Nuestra Belleza México pageant. The contest was held for the second consecutive time at the Salon Teotihuacan of the Centro Internacional de Convenciones Acapulco of Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico on September 19, 1998. Thirty-two contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, featuring the first back to back victories in Nuestra Belleza Mexico history: Silvia Salgado from Nuevo León was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Katty Fuentes, also from Nuevo León. Salgado competed at Miss Universe 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago where she was a Semi-finalist in the Top 10. She was the second Neoleonesa to win this title.

The 6th Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at Lienzo Charro "Cuna de la Charrería" in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico on September 12, 1999. Thirty-two contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Leticia Murray from Sonora, who later competed at Miss Universe 2000 in Cyprus. Murray was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Silvia Salgado. She is the second blonde and only Sonorense to win this title.

The 8th Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Aeropuerto Internacional "Lic. Adolfo López Mateos" of Toluca, Estado de México, Mexico on September 28, 2001. Forty-seven contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Ericka Cruz from Yucatán, who later competed in Miss Universe 2002 in Puerto Rico. Cruz was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Jacqueline Bracamontes. She is the first and only Yucateca and the third winner of foreign descent to win this Title.

The 9th Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the World Trade Center of Boca del Río, Veracruz, Mexico on September 6, 2002. Thirty-three contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Marisol González from Coahuila, who later competed in Miss Universe 2003 in Panamá. González was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Ericka Cruz and Christiane Martel Miss Universe 1953. She is the first and only Coahuilense to win this title.

The 10th Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Teatro del Arte of Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico on September 5, 2003. Thirty-eight contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Rosalva Luna from Sinaloa, who later competed in Miss Universe 2004 in Ecuador where she was a Semifinalist in the Top 15. Luna was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Marisol González. She was the first Sinaloense to win this Title.

Cynthia Alejandra de la Vega y Oates is a Mexican model and beauty pageant titleholder. She is also the national pageant director. Vega was the 17th Nuestra Belleza Mundo México titleholder in 2010.

Gabriela Palacio Díaz de León is a Mexican singer, model and beauty pageant titleholder who obtained the 2010 Nuestra Belleza Internacional México title.

González was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Karin Ontiveros and Ximena Navarrete Miss Universe 2010. She was the first Hidrocalida to win this title.

Nuestra Belleza Nuevo León 2008 was a beauty pageant which was held at the Teatro de la Ciudad in Monterrey, Nuevo León on June 25, 2008. At the conclusion of the final night of competition, Mariana González of Monterrey was crowned the winner. González was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza Nuevo León titleholder and Nuestra Belleza Mundo México 2007, Anagabriela Espinoza. Ten contestants competed for the state title.

The 19th annual Nuestra Belleza Mexico pageant was held at the Poliforum del Centro de Convenciones of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, Mexico on September 1, 2012. Thirty-five contestants of Mexico competed for the national title, which was won by Cynthia Duque from Nuevo León who later competed in Miss Universe 2013 in Russia. Duque was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Karina González. She is the fourth Neoleonesa to win this title.
