The 1928 Winter Olympics, officially known as the II Olympic Winter Games and commonly known as St. Moritz 1928, was an international winter multi-sport event that was celebrated from 11 to 19 February 1928 in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
At the 1928 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, four speed skating events were scheduled, all for men, but medals were only awarded for three events, because the 10.000 m event was not completed. The Allround event, which was only organized in 1924, was removed from the program. The competitions were held on Monday, 13 February 1928 and on Tuesday, 14 February 1928.
At the 1936 Winter Olympics, four speed skating events were contested. The competitions were held on Tuesday, 11 February 1936, Wednesday, 12 February 1936, Thursday, 13 February 1936, and on Friday, 14 February 1936.

Anna Levandi, née Kondrashova, is a Russian competitive figure skater who represented the former Soviet Union in international competition. She was the 1984 World silver medalist and four-time European bronze medalist. She competed at two Winter Olympic Games.
Aleksei Budõlin is an Estonian judoka. At the 2000 Summer Olympics he won the bronze medal in the men's Half Middleweight (73–81 kg) category, together with Nuno Delgado of Portugal.

After the nation was occupied by the Soviet Union in 1940, a number of Estonian athletes competed as part of the USSR delegations at the Summer Olympic games from 1952 to 1988.

Mongolia sent a delegation to compete at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, United States from 8–24 February 2002. This was Mongolia's tenth time participating in a Winter Olympic Games. The delegation consisted of four athletes, two cross-country skiers; Davaagiin Enkhee and Jargalyn Erdenetülkhüür, as well as two short-track speed skating competitors; Battulgyn Oktyabri and Ganbatyn Jargalanchuluun. Erdenetülkhüür placed 63rd in the men's 15 kilometre classical cross-country race; he was the only one of the four to compete in an event final.
Diana Rennik is an Estonian former competitive pair skater. She competed with Aleksei Saks. Together, they are the four times Estonian national champions. They placed 17th at the 2006 Winter Olympics.
Maria Sergejeva is an Estonian former competitive pair skater and model. With former partner Ilja Glebov, she is the 2007–10 Estonian national champion and represented Estonia at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Following her competitive retirement in 2010, Sergejeva performed worldwide in theatre and arena shows, including Disney on Ice, Fantasy on Ice, Illusion on Ice, Magic on Ice and The Snow King.
Ilja Glebov is an Estonian former competitive pair skater. With former partner Maria Sergejeva, he is the 2007–09 Estonian national champion and competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. After they parted ways at the end of the 2009–10 season, he considered partnering with another skater but had army service. He is the elder brother of Estonian figure skater Jelena Glebova.

He picked up a total of ten medals in his career, including four from the World Judo Cup series and a bronze from the 2003 European U23 Championships in Nabeul, Tunisia, and represented his nation Georgia in the 81-kg class at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
Eduard Hiiop was an Estonian figure skater and athlete. He participated in the 1928 Winter Olympics as the flag bearer for Estonia and competed in 1936, placing 18th with Helene Michelson in pair skating.
Eva-Lotta Kiibus is an Estonian figure skater. She is the 2020 Nebelhorn Trophy champion, a two-time Estonian national champion (2020–21), and a three-time Tallink Hotels Cup champion. Kiibus has represented Estonia at the European and World championships and finished twenty-first at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
