Alexander Henry Ball (born 3 October 1986) is an English former first-class cricketer.
Ball was born at Westminster in October 1986. He was educated at Eton College,before going up to St Catherine's College,Oxford. [1] While studying at Oxford,he made his debut in first-class cricket for Oxford University against Cambridge University in the 2007 The University Match at Lord's. He played two further first-class matches for Oxford University,in the 2008 and 2009 University Matches. [2] In addition to playing first-class cricket for Oxford,Ball also played two first-class matches for Oxford MCCU against Nottinghamshire in 2008 and 2009. [2] In his five first-class matches,he scored 155 runs at an average of 22.14,with a high score of 44 not out. [1]
Abdul Qadir Khan SI was an international cricketer who bowled leg spin for Pakistan. Qadir is widely regarded as a legendary leg spinner from the 1970s and 1980s and was a role model for up and coming leg spinners. Later he was a commentator and Chief Selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board,from which he resigned due to differences of opinion with leading Pakistan cricket administrators.
Samuel Moses James Woods was an Australian sportsman who represented both Australia and England at Test cricket,and appeared thirteen times for England at rugby union,including five times as captain. He also played at county level in England at both soccer and hockey. At cricket—his primary sport—he played over four hundred first-class matches in a twenty-four-year career. The majority of these matches were for his county side,Somerset,whom he captained from 1894 to 1906. A. A. Thomson described him thus:"Sammy ... radiated such elemental force in hard hitting,fast bowling and electrical fielding that he might have been the forerunner of Sir Learie Constantine."

Steven John Mullaney is an English cricketer who played in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka. For the 2008–09 Australian season he played for South Caulfield in Melbourne's Victorian Turf Cricket Association competition as that club's visiting professional. Bernard James Tindal Bosanquet was an English cricketer best known for inventing the googly,a delivery designed to deceive the batsman. When bowled,it appears to be a leg break,but after pitching the ball turns in the opposite direction to that which is expected,behaving as an off break instead. Bosanquet,who played first-class cricket for Middlesex between 1898 and 1919,appeared in seven Test matches for England as an all-rounder. He was chosen as a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1905.

Tristan George Lance Ballance was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer. Ballance attended the University of Oxford,where he played first-class cricket for Oxford University Cricket Club from 1935–37. After graduating he became a schoolteacher,before serving in the Second World War with the Durham Light Infantry. He died of wounds sustained in action in December 1943,three months after being decorated with the Military Cross.
