Alex Bannon (born 16 September 2003) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a defender for League of Ireland Premier Division club Derry City on loan from EFL League One side Burton Albion. [1]

In February 2025 he returned to Scotland, signing on loan for Airdrieonians. [12] [13] He helped the team avoid relegation to League One in the play-offs. [14]
On 2 July 2025, Bannon moved on a 12-month loan to Derry City. [15] [16] He expressed enthusiasm over the move, hoping to challenge at the top of the table and in European competition.
