Alex Malinga (born 1974) is an Ugandan marathon runner. He was born in Kapchorwa.
He finished sixth at the 2005 World Championships, in a national record of 2:12:12 hours.
He also competed at the 2000 Olympic Games, finishing in 57th place. At the 2007 World Championships he finished twelfth.

He was nicknamed "Slinga Malinga" due to his distinctive round-arm action, sometimes referred to as a sling action. Malinga announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on 14 September 2021 and migrated to Melbourne.

John Allan Farrington is a former long-distance runner from Australia, who represented his native country in the men's marathon at the 1968 Summer Olympics. There he finished in 43rd position, clocking 2:50:16.8. He came in fifth in the same event at the 1974 Commonwealth Games. Farrington claimed four national titles in the marathon.

Kiprotich also won a gold at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics. After Gezahegne Abera, he is the second person to follow an Olympic marathon title with a world championship gold medal for the same event.
