Aliiglaciecola litoralis is a gram-negative, aerobic, non-pigmented, catalase- and oxidase-positive, rod-shaped motile bacterium from the genus of Aliiglaciecola which was isolated from a marine sandy sample of the Sea of Japan. [3] [4] Aestuariibacter litoralis has been reclassified to Aliiglaciecola litoralis. [5]

Aestuariibacter is a genus in the class Gammaproteobacteria (Bacteria), composed of four species, namely A. aggregatus, A. halophilus, A. litoralis and the type species A. salexigens. These are strictly aerobic marine rod-shaped bacteria. They share many traits with the sister genus Alteromonas, the type genus of the family (Alteromonadaceae) and order (Alteromonadales).

Desulfosporosinus is a genus of strictly anaerobic, sulfate-reducing bacteria, often found in soil.

Virgibacillus is a genus of Gram-positive, rod-shaped (bacillus) bacteria and a member of the phylum Firmicutes. Virgibacillus species can be obligate aerobes, or facultative anaerobes and catalase enzyme positive. Under stressful environmental conditions, the bacteria can produce oval or ellipsoidal endospores in terminal, or sometimes subterminal, swollen sporangia. The genus was recently reclassified from the genus Bacillus in 1998 following an analysis of the species V. pantothenticus. Subsequently, a number of new species have been discovered or reclassified as Virgibacillus species.
