Dalston is an area in London, England and is located in the London Borough of Hackney. It lies in North East London and is four miles northeast of Charing Cross. Dalston began as a hamlet on either side of Dalston Lane, and as the area urbanised the term also came to apply to surrounding areas including Kingsland and Shacklewell, all three of which being part of the Ancient Parish of Hackney.
De Beauvoir Town is a neighbourhood in northeast London and is in the London Borough of Hackney, 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the City of London. The area was a part of Hackney, the Ancient Parish and subsequent Metropolitan Borough that was incorporated into the larger modern borough. It is sometimes described as a part of Dalston, which is in turn also a part of the former parish and borough of Hackney.

It lies between Hoxton and Dalston Junction stations, is in Travelcard Zone 2, and is open 24 hours on a Friday and Saturday as part of the London Overground Night Service service. The station was rebuilt as part of the East London line extension.

St Mary, Haggerston, was an Anglican parish church built to the designs of John Nash in 1827, in what is now the London Borough of Hackney. Built in the Gothic style of its time, it had an elaborate west front with a disproportionately tall tower. The rest of the church was, in comparison, rather plain. It was altered later in the 19th century by James Brooks as the first initiative of the Haggerston Church Scheme, and destroyed by bombs during the Second World War. The site is now a children's playground west of Haggerston Park, between Thurtle Road and Queensbridge Road.

The Church of St Thomas the Apostle, Killinghall, is an Anglican parish church in Killinghall, North Yorkshire, England. It was designed in 1879 by William Swinden Barber when the parish of Ripley was split to create the additional parish of Killinghall, and a new building was required to accommodate a growing congregation. It was opened in 1880. Among the early vicars posted in this benefice were two canons, Sydney Robert Elliston and Lindsay Shorland-Ball, and the Venerable Robert Collier, an Irish missionary who served in India and Africa.

St Chad's, Haggerston, located on Dunloe Street in Haggerston, is an urban Anglican parish church in the diocese of London, England. Built to designs by architect James Brooks and completed in 1869 as part of the Haggerston Church Scheme, the Grade I Listed church was united with the parish of St Mary, Haggerston in 1953, following the destruction of that church in an air raid in 1941. St Chad's has a historical association with High Church liturgy and Anglo-Catholicism.
