Allan Jack Katz (born April 30,1947) is a former City Commissioner of Tallahassee and American Ambassador to Portugal. [3] President Barack Obama nominated Allan to be Ambassador of the United States of America to the Portuguese Republic in November 2009. Ambassador Allan Katz is a distinguished professor with the University of Missouri Kansas City Bloch School's Department of Public Affairs and the College of Arts and Science's Political Science Department. He is the founder of the American Public Square,an organization using civil discourse to bridge the partisan divide. In 2019,American Public Square announced a new partnership with William Jewell College,changing its name to American Public Square at Jewell,and Ambassador Katz was brought on as Distinguished Professor in Residence in William Jewell's Department of Political Science. [4] Katz is a lawyer by profession who has been active in local and national government and politics for many years. He has been a member of the Democratic National Committee where he helped draft the party's platform for the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Ambassador Katz holds a B.A. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington D.C. [5] He was raised in a Jewish family in St. Louis,the son of Fred and Eileen Katz. [6] His father escaped Nazi Germany for the United States where he worked as a salesman; [7] and was one of the original founders of the St. Louis Holocaust Museum. William Jewell College is a private liberal arts college in Liberty,Missouri. It was founded in 1849 by members of the Missouri Baptist Convention and endowed with $10,000 by William Jewell. It was associated with the Missouri Baptist Convention for over 150 years until its separation in 2003 and is now an independent institution. Since becoming a nonsectarian institution,the college's enrollment has fallen by approximately 40% to 739 students in 2018. Jewell is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
Herbert Spencer Hadley was an American lawyer and a Republican Party politician from St. Louis,Missouri. Born in Olathe,Kansas,he was Missouri Attorney General from 1905 to 1909 and in 1908 was elected the 32nd Governor of Missouri,serving one term from 1909 to 1913. As Attorney General,he successfully prosecuted Standard Oil Company for violating Missouri antitrust law. Entering the 1912 Republican convention,the Roosevelt and Taft forces seemed evenly matched,and Hadley was seen as a possible compromise candidate. While Taft was supportive of the idea,Roosevelt refused.

George William Draper III is an American lawyer who served as a judge of the Supreme Court of Missouri from 2011 to 2023. He was appointed to the court by Governor Jay Nixon. Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court,he served on the Missouri Court of Appeals from 2000 to 2011. From 1998 to 2000,he served as a circuit judge in the St. Louis County Circuit Court;from 1994 to 1998 he was an associate circuit judge on the same court. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Morehouse College,and his Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law. His term as Chief Justice ended on June 30,2021. He retired from the bench on August 4,2023,one day shy of reaching the court's mandatory retirement age of 70.
