Release history
Allegiance was initially released in Greece on 10 July 2006, almost a fortnight before the rest of the world. It was later released in Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg), Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy on 21 July 2006, and three days later, on 24 July 2006, in the UK, France, Spain, Denmark, Norway and most of the rest of Europe and finally in Finland, Sweden and Hungary a further two days later, on 26 July 2006. A month before the album's release, on 13 June 2006, the "Falling to Pieces" maxi single was released to the Greek market, with a music video directed by Patric Ullaeus, and peaked at #11 in the Greek Singles Charts. Approximately five weeks later, the album was released and peaked at the same position in the Greek Album Charts. [5] Then, following the Inhuman Rampage tour with DragonForce and their own World Allegiance tour, they released their second single off the album, "Breaking the Silence", almost a year later, on 2 July 2007, again only physically to Greece with a video directed by Patric Ullaeus guest starring Tara Teresa, [6] this time peaking at #16 in the Greek Singles Charts. Damage Done is the sixth full-length studio album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity. Here, the band returns to a more classic style while holding the changes made in their albums Haven and Projector, especially in the keyboards, but this is the first record since The Mind's I that does not feature clean vocals. Martin Henriksson started doing some "lead guitar riffs" on the record, so the band showed influences from The Gallery in the duality of lead guitars. Mikael Stanne said that the lyrics on this album are about the frailty of life.
Death Cult Armageddon is the sixth studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released on 9 September 2003. It has since sold over 100,000 copies in the United States; the first album under Nuclear Blast to do so; and debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at number 169. The song "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" was released as a single with an accompanying music video. This would also be the last album to have Nicholas Barker on drums.
Dream Evil is a Swedish heavy metal band, assembled by producer Fredrik Nordström in 1999.
Firewind is a Greek power metal band formed in Thessaloniki in 1998. The group is currently signed to Century Media Records and was originally a small project created by guitarist Gus G. to showcase his demo, Nocturnal Symphony, in 1998. Firewind later became a full band over three years later when they recorded their debut album, Between Heaven and Hell. To date, the band has released nine studio albums and has been met with international success.
Nightrage is a Greek/Swedish melodic death metal band originally from Thessaloniki. They later re-located to Gothenburg, Sweden.
Descent into Chaos is the second full-length studio album by the Greek/Swedish melodic death metal band Nightrage. It was released by Century Media Records on 21 February 2005 in Europe, on 5 April 2005 in the US and by King Japan on 27 April 2005 in Japan. It was Nightrage's last album to feature Gothenburg vocalist Tomas Lindberg.
Forged by Fire is the third full-length album by Greek power metal band Firewind and their first released through Century Media. From this album onwards, Gus G is the sole ever-present in their professional discography, following the replacement of Stephen Fredrick with Chitral "Chity" Somapala. It is also the first album to feature keyboardist Bob Katsionis.
Desiderata is the fourth studio album by Norwegian metal band Madder Mortem, released on 24 April 2006. It was their first CD release on Peaceville Records. The album spawned a digital single, "My Name Is Silence". A video was also shot for the single.
Apostolos "Apollo" Papathanasiou is a Swedish heavy metal vocalist of Greek descent, who is currently with the band Spiritual Beggars. He has also sung for Firewind, Meduza, Evil Masquerade, Gardenian, and Richard Andersson's projects Majestic and Time Requiem.
Astronomy is the fourth studio album by Swedish power metal band Dragonland, released in Europe on 13 November 2006 and in North America on 28 November 2006. While their third album Starfall focused heavily on keyboards and had a more upbeat lyrical tone, according to guitarist Olof Mörck, Astronomy is "gloomier, more stygian and packed with crunching guitars; both furiously fast and bone-grindingly heavy."
Anders Patrik Jerksten, also known as Patrik J., Patrik J. Sten or Pat Power, is a Swedish sound engineer and heavy metal drummer for Passenger, The Fifth Sun, and Dream Evil. He has worked extensively in the famous Studio Fredman and has engineering, mixing and production credits for many heavy metal bands such as Dimmu Borgir, The Haunted, Firewind, Nightrage, Darkest Hour and Susperia.
In Sorte Diaboli is the eighth studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released in 2007. It is the band's first concept album. A site on the Nuclear Blast website was created for In Sorte Diaboli, in which a new promotional photo can be seen and an audio sample can be heard. This would be the last album by Dimmu Borgir to feature ICS Vortex, Hellhammer and Mustis.
Disintegrate is the third and final studio album by Norwegian blackened death metal band Zyklon. It was released on 15 May 2006. Clocking at 45:06, Disintegrate is Zyklon's longest album. It was recorded from November to December 2005 at the "Akkerhaugen Lydstudio" in Norway.
Rise of the Tyrant is the seventh studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy. It was produced by Fredrik Nordström and released on 24 September 2007 via Century Media.
Break the News is the third studio album by Swedish singer Darin. It was released on 22 November 2006 in Sweden. The album reached the top of the Swedish Album Charts. Four singles were released from the album in Sweden with an additional track charting from promotion. This is the first Darin album to be released internationally, being released in Germany on 28 September 2007 with an altered track listing.
The Premonition is the fifth full-length album by Firewind and their only album to feature the same line-up as its predecessor. Gus G. said "we basically kept the Allegiance 'winning team' together" much to the apparent surprise of fans.
"Mercenary Man" is the third track on the Greek power metal band Firewind's fifth studio album The Premonition. It was released for streaming on Firewind's Myspace page on February 2, 2008 but only physically released as a single in Greece, on February 25, 2008. The song was also released on several models of Walkman in 2008. Also "Mercenary Man" is the track on the band Geordie (band)'s album "Don't Be Fooled by the Name" (1974).
"Breaking the Silence" is the fifth track off Greek power metal band Firewind's fourth studio album Allegiance. It was released as a single to the market of Greece on 2 July 2007. Tara Teresa's vocal performance on the song has been described as "more characteristic of gothic metal and gothic rock than power metal" and compared that of Evanescence's Amy Lee.
