Madison County is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census,the population was 30,120. The county seat is Danielsville. The county was created on December 5,1811. The county's largest city is Comer with a population of 1,200.

Standing Peachtree was a Muscogee village and the closest Indian settlement to what is now the Buckhead area of Atlanta,Georgia. It was located where Peachtree Creek flows into the Chattahoochee River,in today's Paces neighborhood. It was located in the borderlands of the Cherokee and Muscogee nations. It is referred to in several documents dating as far back as 1782.

William Lee was an English-born American politician,military officer,and slaveowner. He served in the War of 1812 and in the Creek War as an officer in the Georgia Volunteer Militia. An early settler of Alabama,Lee attended the convention that drafted the Constitution of Alabama,and served as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives. In 1821 he was appointed as the first judge in Butler County.
