Allocnemidinae is a subfamily of damselflies in the family Platycnemididae. There are 5 genera in Allocnemidinae, found in Africa and Arabia. [1]

The subfamily Allocnemidinae was defined by Dijkstra, et al., in 2014, as a result of a comprehensive phylogenetic study of the damselfly families. [2]

Coenagrionidae Family of insects

The insect family Coenagrionidae is placed in the order Odonata and the suborder Zygoptera. The Zygoptera are the damselflies, which although less known than the dragonflies, are no less common. More than 1,300 species are in this family, making it the largest damselfly family. The family Coenagrionidae has six subfamilies: Agriocnemidinae, Argiinae, Coenagrioninae, Ischnurinae, Leptobasinae, and Pseudagrioninae.

Platycnemididae

The Platycnemididae are a family of damselflies. They are known commonly as white-legged damselflies. There are over 400 species native to the Old World. The family is divided into several subfamilies.

Megapodagrionidae

The Megapodagrionidae are a family of damselflies, commonly called flatwings for their habit of spreading out the hind wings horizontally when at rest. They belong to the superfamily Calopterygoidea.

Argiolestinae

Argiolestinae is a subfamily of damselflies. They belong to the flatwing damselfly family, Argiolestidae. Like their relatives but unlike damselflies of other families, they usually spread their hindwings horizontally when resting. It is the largest subfamily in Argiolestidae, making up almost three-quarters of the family's species, found primarily in Australia, New Guinea, and New Caledonia.
