Allam Veerabhadrappa is a leader of the Indian National Congress in Karnataka. He is a former president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee. [1]
On 10 June 2016,he was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Council. He secured 33 votes of Indian National Congress MLAs. [2] [3] He is a four-time MLA from Kurogod (Bellary) and was a minister in SM Krishna's cabinet.
He was minister for water resources,environment,agriculture,and ecology. He is a close associate of SM Krishna,former chief minister. He is a mine owner from Bellary. He played a key role in G. Janardhana Reddy's case.
Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna is an Indian politician who served as Minister of External Affairs of India from 2009 to October 2012. The 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election was held on 5 May 2013 to elect members from 223 constituencies in the Indian state of Karnataka. Five major political parties contested the election:Indian National Congress (INC),Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),Janata Dal (Secular),B. S. Yeddyurappa's Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) and B. Sriramulu's Badavara Shramikara Raitara Congress (BSRCP). Though Karnataka has 224 assembly constituencies,elections were held only for 223 seats. The election for the Piriyapatna constituency was postponed to 28 May 2013 due to the death of the BJP candidate for the seat. The voter turnout in the state was 70.23%.

The 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election was held on 12 May 2018 in 222 constituencies to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. The election was postponed in Jayanagar and Rajarajeshwari Nagar,following the death of the MLA B. N. Vijaya Kumar and a voter fraud scandal respectively till 28 May. The election saw a voter turnout of 72.13 per cent,the highest in Karnataka since 1952 assembly polls. The counting of votes took place on 15 May 2018.
