Courchevel Altiport is an altiport serving Courchevel, a ski resort in the French Alps. The airfield has a very short runway of only 537 metres (1,762 ft) with a gradient of 18.6%. There is no go-around procedure for landings at Courchevel due to the surrounding mountainous terrain. The airfield primarily sees use by smaller fixed-wing aircraft such as the Cessna 208 Caravan, as well as helicopters. The runway has no instrument approach procedure or lighting aids, making landing in fog or low clouds unsafe and almost impossible.

Gauthier de Tessières is a World Cup alpine ski racer from France, and has competed in two Winter Olympics and five World Championships. He made his breakthrough on the Alpine Skiing World Cup in a giant slalom in Val-d'Isère in December 2008, where after finishing 30th in the first run to narrowly qualify for the second run, he worked his way up to finish third overall, bettering his previous World Cup personal best of 15th. He won the silver medal in the super-G at the 2013 World Championships, after being added to the French team as an injury replacement. De Tessières announced his retirement from competition in January 2014 after he was not selected for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The Triathlon EDF Alpe d'Huez, named after its sponsor Électricité de France (EDF), was established in 2006 by World Triathlon Champion Cyrille Neveu. It is not sanctioned by the International Triathlon Union (ITU) or Fédération Française de Triathlon (FFTRI). The long course event comprises a 2.2 km swim, a 115 km cycle and a 22 km run. It starts with the swim at the reservoir Lac du Verney then the cycling features the 21 bends used by the Tour de France as it climbs 1120 m to the ski resort of Alpe d'Huez for the run.

Notre-Dame des Neiges is a church in the municipality of Alpe d'Huez, built in the twentieth century and dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

The Four-man bobsleigh competition at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble was held on 16 February, at L'Alpe d'Huez. A sudden thaw in the ice on the track limited the competition to two runs.

L'Alpe d'Huez Film Festival, established in 1997, is a film festival dedicated to comedy cinema. It takes place every year in Alpe d'Huez during the third week of January and offers a free program and free entrance composed of many screenings, short and feature films. The screenings take place all day in the halls of the Palais des Sports et Congresses of Alpe d'Huez. The films of the official selection, in competition and out of competition, are projected in national preview in the presence of the casts and crews of the films.

Three Times Nothing is a Canadian-French comedy film, directed by Nadège Loiseau and released in 2022. The film centres on Brindille, Casquette and La Flèche, three homeless men who unexpectedly win the lottery, and struggle to figure out how to claim their winnings without a permanent address.
