Delta State is a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Named after the Niger Delta—a large part of which is in the state—the state was formed from the former Bendel State,on 27 August 1991. Bordered on the north by Edo State,the east by Anambra and Rivers states,and that south by Bayelsa State while to the west is the Bight of Benin which covers about 160 kilometres of the state's coastline. The state was initially created with 12 local government areas in 1991,but was later expanded to 19 and now has 25 local government areas. Its capital city is Asaba which is located along the River Niger on the northeastern end of the state,while the state's economic center is the city of Warri on the southwestern coastline.
The Nigeria national football team represents Nigeria in men's international football. Governed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF),they are three-time Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winners,with their most recent title in 2013. In February 2024,the Nigerian national football team was ranked 28th in the FIFA rankings. The team has qualified for six of the last eight FIFA World Cups,missing only the 2006 and 2022 editions. They have reached the round of 16 on three occasions. Their first World Cup appearance was in the 1994 edition. The team is a member of FIFA and Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a public research university located in Benin City,Edo State,Nigeria. It is among the universities owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria and was founded in 1970. The school currently has two campuses with fifteen faculties including a central library called the John Harris Library. The buildings in UNIBEN are sparsely built,they are not close to each other.

Shehu Dikko is a Nigerian football administrator. He is the Chairman of the League Management Company responsible for the management of the Nigerian Professional Football League. He was previously a consultant for the Nigerian House of Representatives on Sports committee. Ahead of the 2022 NFF Elections,Dikko has declared his intention to run for the presidency.
The 2019–2020 Nigeria Professional Football League was the 49th season of the top-flight division of the Nigerian football league system and the 30th season since its rebranding as the 'Professional League'. The league started on 3 November 2019 but was cancelled in July due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic with no champions and no teams relegated. Enyimba were the defending champions,after winning the Super 6 play-offs the previous season

He is a former chairman of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN),a former chairman of Zamfara Football Association,a committee member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF),and a member of CAF youth organising committee.
