Amanda Helen Pennekamp (born July 17, 1981) is an American model, television personality, and former beauty queen from Columbia, South Carolina who has competed in the Miss USA and Miss Earth pageants.

Pennekamp won the Miss South Carolina USA 2004 title in late 2003 and represented South Carolina in the Miss USA 2004 pageant held in Hollywood, California in April 2004. She placed first runner-up to Shandi Finnessey of Missouri in the nationally televised pageant, the state's highest placement since Lu Parker won the Miss USA title in 1994.

In August 2006 Pennekamp won the first Miss Earth USA pageant and succeeded Amanda Kimmel as the United States' representative at the Miss Earth pageant. The pageant took place in Manila, Philippines on November 26, 2006. She made the top 16 and also placed in the top 15 preliminary swimsuit competition.

Pennekamp, who studied theatre and speech communications at Newberry College, [1] is a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. [1] The college established the Pennekamp Scholarship for the Performing Arts in her honor. [2]

She is currently living in Columbia, South Carolina and working as a model and Host of The V Fixxx for the Vegas Entertainment Network. Also, she is an instructor for Gowns and Crowns which is the basis for the show King of the Crown. She is married to another former model Brian Bluestein and they have a son born in 2012 and a daughter born in 2015. She is represented by the Patrick Talent Agency. [3]

The Miss South Carolina competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of South Carolina in the Miss America pageant. The pageant was first held in Myrtle Beach and moved to Greenville starting in 1958 and remained in that city until the 1990s. Spartanburg hosted the pageant in a few different venues until new leadership took over the organization and moved the pageant to Columbia, SC in 2011. The pageant was televised since the 1960s until the 1998 pageant. Televising was resumed with the 2000 pageant through 2006. The pageant returned to television in 2014.

The Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant is a national scholarship competition for young women of African descent that was founded in 1986 by Karen Arrington. While Ms. Arrington has a long-standing history of hosting a national Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant, her system has not been exclusive in doing so consecutively. As indicated by the chart below, there have been some years where "no pageant was held" by Ms. Arrington's State of Maryland organized non-profit, for example in years such as 1998, 1999 and 2000. However, similar to Miss USA and Miss America both being national systems, there have been other non-profits to host national scholarship pageants to celebrate Black women, with documented queens.
