American Dream is the first EP by American metalcore band Woe, Is Me. It was released on August 20, 2013, through Rise Records, [1] produced by Tom Denney, [2] and mixed and mastered by Cameron Mizell. Although released digitally through all major outlets, a physical version of the EP was made available solely through Best Buy stores. It is the band's first and only release not to feature founding member Austin Thornton on drums. [3]

Due to perpetual conflicts within the lineup the band suffered several lineup changes during its four-year run. The only original member who remained in the band through its lifespan was guitarist Kevin Hanson. Woe, Is Me officially broke up in September 2013. They announced their reunion in July of 2022 with the Vengeance lineup and played their first show in over 9 years in Dallas, Texas on October 29, 2022.

It is the first album to feature Doriano Magliano, Hance Alligood, Brian Medley, and Andrew Paiano, and the last album featuring Austin Thornton on drums before their reunion in 2022. Genesi[s] is noted for being the band's first album since the departure of original members Michael Bohn, Tyler Carter, Cory and Ben Ferris, and Tim Sherrill. The entire album was produced by Cameron Mizell.
