American Gurl is the second studio album by American singer and songwriter Kilo Kish. It was released on March 25, 2022, through the Kish's imprint label, Kisha Soundscape + Audio. The album comes six years after Kish's debut album, Reflections in Real Time (2016), and two years after her EP, Redux (2019). [6]
Kilo Kish released her debut studio album, Reflections in Real Time in February 2016. Kish later collaborated with several more high-profile artists such as American rapper, Vince Staples in 2016, on his song "Loco", and English virtual band, Gorillaz in 2017, on their song "Out of Body". In 2018, Kish released her second EP, Mothe, and her third EP, Redux a year later in 2019. [7]
Kish announced the album's title track as the lead single on July 15, 2021. Four days later on July 19, she confirmed that an album was in the works and that she had started the project in 2019. [8] The single was released on July 23, along with a music video. She announced the second single "Bloody Future" on August 11. The single was released on August 20, along with a music video. [9]
The third single "New Tricks: Art, Aesthetics, and Money" was announced on January 24, 2022. It was released on January 28 and features an appearance from American rapper Vince Staples. [10] The fourth single titled "No Apology!" was released on February 25, 2022. On March 9, Kish announced through her social media outlets that her second studio album titled American Gurl would be released on March 25, 2022, and that it had been worked on at the same time as Redux. The announcement came with the album's cover and tracklist.

He released his third album The Colour in Anything in 2016, his fourth Assume Form in 2019, his fifth Friends That Break Your Heart in 2021, and his sixth Playing Robots Into Heaven in 2023.
Thebe Neruda Kgositsile, also known by his stage name Earl Sweatshirt, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Kgositsile was originally known by the moniker Sly Tendencies when he began rapping in 2008, but changed his name when Tyler, the Creator invited him to join his alternative hip hop collective Odd Future in late 2009.
The Jet Age of Tomorrow is an American production duo from Atlanta, Georgia and a sub-group of hip hop collective Odd Future that consists of producer-singer Matt Martians, and producer-rapper Pyramid Vritra. According to Martians, the group's music originated from instrumentals turned down by Tyler, the Creator and Hodgy, who liked the tracks Martians sent them, but could not use them in their own music. Outside of their work with the Jet Age, Martians is a member of The Internet with Odd Future member Syd, while Vritra is a member of his own Atlanta hip hop collective, NRK.
Vincent Jamal Staples is an American rapper and singer from Long Beach, California. Staples first became known for his association with California-based alternative hip hop collective Odd Future, namely Mike G and Earl Sweatshirt. He signed with Talib Kweli's Blacksmith Records prior to releasing his collaborative mixtape with Mac Miller, Stolen Youth (2013). The following year, he signed with No I.D.'s ARTium Recordings, an imprint of Def Jam Recordings to release his debut extended play, Hell Can Wait (2014)—which marked his first project to chart on the Billboard 200.
Sydney Loren Bennett, known professionally as Syd, is an American musician and singer from Los Angeles, California. She initially gained recognition as a member of the alternative hip hop collective Odd Future, and went on to found her own band The Internet, in 2011. Bennett released her 2017 debut solo album Fin, followed by the EP Always Never Home. She released her second album, Broken Hearts Club, in 2022.
Lakisha Kimberly Robinson, known professionally as Kilo Kish, is an American singer-songwriter and visual artist.
Stolen Youth is a collaborative mixtape by American rapper Vince Staples and rapper/producer Mac Miller, under his production pseudonym Larry Fisherman. The mixtape was released as a free digital download on June 20, 2013, to mixtape hosting websites. Stolen Youth was entirely produced by Miller. The mixtape features guest appearances from Mac Miller, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q, Da$H, Hardo, and Staples' Cutthroat Boyz cohort, Joey Fatts.

"&Burn" is a song by American singer Billie Eilish and American rapper Vince Staples. It was released for digital download and streaming as a single on December 15, 2017, through Darkroom and Interscope Records, and was later included on a reissue of Eilish's debut EP, Don't Smile at Me, in December of that year. Staples and Finneas O'Connell co-wrote the song, with the latter solely handling production. A hip hop-influenced track, the song is an alternate version of Eilish's single "Watch".
