Dubai is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates and the capital of the Emirate of Dubai, the most populated of the country's seven emirates. The city has a population of around 3.79 million, more than 90% of which are expatriates.
E 11 is a highway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The longest road in the Emirates, it stretches from the Al Batha border crossing at the Saudi Arabia–UAE border in al-Silah in the al-Dhafra region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and ends at the Oman–UAE border crossing of al-Darah in al-Jeer, Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah, running roughly parallel to UAE's coastline along the Persian Gulf. The road forms the main artery in some emirates' main cities, where it assumes various alternate names —Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, Al Ittihad Road in Sharjah Emirate and Ajman Emirate, and Sheikh Muhammad bin Salem Road in Ras al-Khaimah.
The government of Dubai took a decision to diversify from a trade-based, oil-reliant economy to one that is service and tourism-oriented. This has made real estate and other developments more valuable, thus resulting in a property boom from 2004 to 2006. Construction on a large scale has turned Dubai into one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. There are a number of large-scale projects which are currently under construction or are to be constructed in the future. Due to the heavy construction which is taking place in Dubai, 30,000 construction cranes, which are 25% of cranes worldwide, are operating in Dubai. Due to the burst of construction, Dubai has acquired various building-related records, which include: the world's tallest tower, the world's largest shopping mall, the world's largest fountain and the world's tallest hotel. Also under construction is Dubailand, which will be almost twice the size of the Walt Disney World Resort.
Al Barsha is a collection of sub-communities in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Al Barsha is one of the newer residential developments of Dubai and is located in west Dubai, south of Al Sufouh. Al Barsha is bounded by E 11 and E 311. Al Barsha is sub-divided into five sections: Al Barsha 1, Al Barsha 2, Al Barsha 3, Al Barsha South and Barsha Heights. Al Barsha 1 is adjacent to Sheikh Zayed road and the Mashreq metro station while Al Barsha 2 and Al Barsha 3 are mostly inland.
Al Sufouh is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Located in western Dubai, Al Sufouh contains many new real estate developments and is home to several free economic clusters such as Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai Internet City. Al Sufouh lies along Dubai's Persian Gulf coast and comprises two sub-communities:
Umm Al Sheif is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Umm Al Sheif is a small, residential locality in western Dubai. It is bordered to the north by Umm Suqeim, the northeast by Al Manara, the south by Al Barsha and Al Quoz and the west by Al Sufouh. It is bounded to the north by route D 92 and to the south by route E 11. A local road separates Umm Al Sheif from Al Manara.
Provision of education in the UAE began shortly after the establishment of the federation with the inception of the first university, the United Arab Emirates University, located in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi. Since then, the country has progressed with efforts of ensuring high literacy rates, modern programs and women's share in education. It works on improving its youth's education which is why the agenda 2021 has been set. The UAE currently devotes approximately 16 percent of total federal government spending to education. In 2019, the overall literacy rate was 96%, and in the year 2022, the literacy rate increased to 98.29.
Repton School Dubai, part of Excella, is an international, co-educational school founded in 2007. The school caters to students from ages 3 to 18 and has boarding facilities for students from age 11. It is a partner school of the original Repton School in the United Kingdom, founded in 1557.
Dubai International Academy is an international private school in the Emirates Hills area in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. The school is part of the Innoventures Education group. Dubai International Academy opened its doors on September 10, 2005, with 500 students from 55 countries. Currently, it has over 2000 students, representing over 80 nationalities.
