Ametist Azordegan (born 1 July 1980) is a Swedish journalist, television presenter and radio presenter. She was born in Tehran, Iran, but left (along with her family) in 1986, and studied journalism in Stockholm (with a specialty in music journalism). [1] [2] She presented the Sveriges Radio music show En kärleksattack på svensk hiphop between 2007 and 2014, which was broadcast on P3 and SR Metropol. [2] Since 2013, she has been a reviewer for different cultural events for Sveriges Radios P1, P2 and P3. She is also a member of the Grammis award jury and the Swedish Music Hall of Fame. [3]

Azordegan has worked for SVT since 1999 on the music show Kvällstoppen, Pop i fokus along with Per Sinding-Larsen and Fredrik Lindström. [4] She has earlier worked as a reviewer in music for the papers City and Gaffa , and also on and off reviewer for Metro and Sonic, and has also written music articles for Göteborgs-Posten . [5] [6] Azordegan and actor Mikael Tornving were suspended from their work at Sveriges Radio during a period ahead of the 2010 Swedish general election after breaking the station's policy by openly showing their political views. Azordegan participated in a campaign film against far-right parties. [7] After rapper Adam Tensta left TV4's studio show Nyhetsmorgon in protest against perceived racism in 2015, Azordegan wrote a column about her belief that the channel lacks in understanding about racism. [8]

Since 2014, she has been writing a history book about Swedish hip hop music. [9] The book was published by Natur & Kultur and released in 2017. At the 2015 Kingsizegala, she won the award of Original of the year, an award that is given to a person or network that works to promote the Swedish hip hop music and scene. [1]

Musikhjälpen is the Swedish version of the Dutch Serious Request radio and television campaign. The annual show is an appeal for money which each year helps a certain cause. Three radio/television personalities are locked inside a glass house for 144 hours, and they broadcast live on Swedish public service radio network Sveriges Radio and on public services television through SVT. People send text messages requesting a song, with each text costing 50, 100, 200, or 500 Swedish kronor. In later years, a Musikhjälpen-app has been used for requesting songs as well.

Räfven is a Swedish gypsy punk band from Gothenburg, Sweden, performing original music influenced by Eastern European folk music and the klezmer tradition. The group was formed in 2003, as a reaction against the war in Iraq.

Maggio co-wrote the song with Steffan Olsson and the track's producer Christian Walz. On 10 February 2011, it was released to contemporary hit radio stations in Sweden as the album's lead single. The track is a pop rock song about the beginning of a relationship. Some music critics noted a double entendre in the lyrics, though according to Maggio, the song's meaning is open to interpretation. It also attracted accusations of plagiarism of the Strokes' "Reptilia" from the Swedish public, which the singer denied.

<i>Sjung</i> 2012 studio album by Laleh

Sjung is the fourth studio album by the Swedish singer-songwriter Laleh, released on 25 January 2012. Produced by Laleh herself, the album was released on Warner Music Sweden and Lost Army. Sjung is her first long play for four years since the January 2009 album Me and Simon. The album is produced, written, recorded, engineered and performed by Laleh. The release follows her appearance on popular Swedish television show "Så mycket bättre" towards the end of 2011.
