Amit Sheoran (born 19 February 1978 Angadpur, Baghpat, India) is a pistol shooting coach, who also competed at a national level, [1] He had to leave shooting due to the death of his father. [2] He has produced several national and international-level Indian pistol shooters. [3] He has coached Saurabh Chaudhary.

Early life

From around 1995, Amit Sheoran was coached by Mahboob Khan Pathan and entered state- and national-level events. In the beginning of his career Sheoran have to lose his father and entered in his era of struggle.

Coaching career

In 2009 he started a tin-shed shooting range with five students, one air rifle and an old air pistol. [3] The shed is named after a 1857 anti-British revolutionary. [3] In 2016 the father of an old student gifted a small parcel of land - sufficient to allow a marginally larger shed (16x12 sqm) with, for the first time, a pair of fans. [3]

Journey to Olympics

Shooter Saurabh Chaudhary and Para shooter Deepender Singh took a step forward to shooting games in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. From Tin-Shed Academy to Olympics coach he proved once again and also his shooter represented in World University Games and also Khelo India University games. [4]

Notable Performance

2018

Saurabh Chaudhary became the youngest Indian shooter to win a gold medal at the Asian Games. He participated in the Youth Olympic Games 2018 in Argentina and won gold. He won three golds in the Asian Airgun Championship in 2018:the 10m air pistol competition, the team competition and in the mixed team 10m pistol. [5]

2019

In February he won the gold medal at ISSF World Cup in Delhi. [5]

In April, he participated in Mixed Team 10m pistol with Manu Bhaker and won gold at ISSF World Cup in Beijing

In May he won gold and broke the world and junior records in 10m pistol ISSF World Cup in Munich. [6]

2020

In January 2020, he won 63rd gold at the 63rd National Shooting Championship [7] in men's 10 metre air pistol. [8]

2022

Manu Bhaker is an Indian Olympian who competes at shooting, supported by OGQ. She represented India at the 2018 ISSF World Cup and won two gold medals. She is the youngest Indian to win a gold medal at the ISSF World Cup. She won the gold medal in women's 10 m air pistol event at 2018 Commonwealth Games just at the age of 16 in her maiden Commonwealth Games appearance. She won the team gold for India in the women’s 25m pistol team event at the Asian Games, along with Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan.

Om Prakash Mitharwal is an Indian sport shooter. At the 2018 ISSF World Shooting Championships, he won the gold medal in the 50 metre pistol and silver in 10 metre air pistol team event. Saurabh Chaudhary is an Indian sport shooter. He won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in 10 m Air Pistol. He was the youngest Indian gold medalist at the Asian Games. He had earlier won gold medals and set a new junior world record in the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany. He is the only Indian shooter to win a gold medal in ISSF World Championship, ISSF World Cup, Youth Olympic Games, Asian Games and Asian Air Gun Championship. He broke his own world record with a score of 245.5 and claimed gold in Junior Men 10m Air Pistol at 2018 World Championship in Changwon, Korea.

He has won many gold and silver medals and set a new para world record at the Para World Cup in Bangkok.

Esha Singh is an Indian amateur shooter, supported by OGQ. She became the national champion in the 10m Air Pistol category in 2018. She clinched an Olympic quota berth in the 10m Air Pistol category for the Paris Olympic Games at the Asian Qualifier at Jakarta on 8 January 2024. She was also conferred the Arjun Award for 2023 but missed the event on 9 January 2024 due to the Asian qualifier.

Dhanush Srikanth is an Indian deaf sports shooter. He made his Deaflympic debut at the age of 19 representing India at the 2021 Summer Deaflympics. Despite his deafness, he has been competing in Indian shooting circuit and has been regarded as one of the regular faces in Indian shooting fraternity. He is currently coached by former Indian sports shooter Gagan Narang at the Guns for Glory Shooting Academy in Hyderabad.

Shiva Narwal is an Indian sport shooter. He won the bronze medal in the ISSF world cup 10m Air Pistol mixed event along with Palak. He won the gold medal in Men's 10m air pistol team in the 2022 Asian Games.

Yuvika Tomar is an Indian sport shooter. She won the gold medal in the 2022 National Games of India in the 10 meter air pistol, making her the first female shooter representing Uttar Pradesh to win a gold medal at the national games.

Rhythm Sangwan is an Indian pistol shooter from Haryana, supported by OGQ. She usually competes in 10m Air Pistol and 25m Pistol. She has won medals in Shooting World Cups and Shooting Championship at junior as well as at senior level.

Divya Thadigol Subbaraju is an Indian sport shooter from Karnataka. She competes in the skeet discipline. She is part of the Indian shooting team at the Asian Games, Hangzhou, China.

Varun Tomar is an Indian sport shooter, supported by OGQ. He bagged an Olympic quota berth for the Paris Olympics in the 10m Air Pistol event by winning a gold medal at the Asian Olympic Qualifiers on 8 January 2024 at Jakarta.
