Yuvika Tomar [1] [2] [3] (born 6 July 2001) is an Indian sport shooter. [4] [5] She won the gold medal in the 2022 National Games of India in the 10 meter air pistol, making her the first female shooter representing Uttar Pradesh to win a gold medal at the national games.
Tomar was born in Arifpur Kheri, a village in Bagpat district of western Uttar Pradesh. She comes from a family of farmers in the sugarcane belt of Yamuna–Gangatic plains of North India. Her father, Sh. Kiranpal Tomar, was paralyzed as she started her shooting carrier.
In 2017, at the Aryan Gateways Sports Foundation (AGSF), she chose Amit Sheoran as her coach. [6] She wants to maintain the legacy of the foundation’s Olympic shooters Deepender Singh and Arjun awardee Saurabh Chaudhary. [7]
Yuvika Chaudhary is an Indian actress who has appeared in Bollywood films such as Om Shanti Om, Summer 2007 and Toh Baat Pakki!. In 2009, she also acted in a Kannada film Maleyali Jotheyali, in a lead role opposite Ganesh. In 2015, she was a contestant in Colors TV's reality show Bigg Boss 9. Saurabh Chaudhary is an Indian sport shooter. He won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in 10 m Air Pistol. He was the youngest Indian gold medalist at the Asian Games. He had earlier won gold medals and set a new junior world record in the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany. He is the only Indian shooter to win a gold medal in ISSF World Championship, ISSF World Cup, Youth Olympic Games, Asian Games and Asian Air Gun Championship. He broke his own world record with a score of 245.5 and claimed gold in Junior Men 10m Air Pistol at 2018 World Championship in Changwon, Korea.
Deepender Singh (born 15 June 1994 Bhatpura, Sambhal, India) is a champion Indian para pistol sport shooter. His family is subsistence farmers living between he Yamuna and Gangatic plains of western Uttar Pradesh. He has won many gold and silver medals and set a new para world record at the Para World Cup in Bangkok.
Amit Sheoran is a pistol shooting coach, who also competed at a national level, He had to leave shooting due to the death of his father. He has produced several national and international-level Indian pistol shooters. He has coached Saurabh Chaudhary.
