The Arizona Cardinals are a professional American football team based in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Clifton is a city in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Criss-crossed by several major highways, the city is a regional commercial hub for North Jersey and is a bedroom suburb of New York City in the New York Metropolitan Area. As of the 2020 United States Census, the city retained its position as the state's 11th-most-populous municipality, just behind tenth-ranked Trenton, and well ahead of Cherry Hill in twelfth place, with a population of 90,296, reflecting an overall increase of 6,160 (+7.3%) from the 2010 census count of 84,136, which in turn reflected an overall increase of 5,464 (+6.9%) from the 78,672 counted in the 2000 census. The Population Estimates Program calculated a population of 88,461 for 2023, making Clifton the 394th-most populous municipality in the nation.
Montclair State University (MSU) is a public research university in Montclair, New Jersey, with parts of the campus extending into Clifton and into Little Falls. As of fall 2018, Montclair State was, by enrollment, the second largest public university in New Jersey. As of June 2024, there were 22,570 total enrolled students: 18,062 undergraduate students and 4,508 graduate students. It is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity". The campus covers approximately 252 acres (1.02 km2). The university offers more than 300 majors, minors, and concentrations.
The Cleveland Gladiators were an arena football team based in Cleveland, Ohio, and members of the Arena Football League (AFL). The Gladiators played their home games at Quicken Loans Arena, which they shared with the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association and the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League. The franchise was originally based in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and then later in Las Vegas, Nevada, before relocating to Cleveland for the 2008 AFL season. The Gladiators qualified for the playoffs eight times in their history, reaching the ArenaBowl in 2014.
Samuel Davis Mills Jr. was an American professional football player who was a linebacker for 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers. He also played for three seasons for the Philadelphia / Baltimore Stars of the United States Football League (USFL), where he won two championships in 1984 and 1985. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2022.

Aaron James Hawk is an American sports analyst and former professional football linebacker who played for 11 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Green Bay Packers fifth overall in the 2006 NFL draft and he later won Super Bowl XLV with the team. He was also a member of the Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons. He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes, where he earned All-American honors twice and won the Lombardi Award as a senior. He won the BCS National Championship Game with the Buckeyes as a freshman.
Montclair Kimberley Academy (MKA) is a co-educational private school for students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade located in Montclair in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. One of New Jersey's largest independent day schools, Montclair Kimberley Academy celebrated the 125th anniversary of the establishment of its earliest component school in 2012. Passaic High School is a four-year community public high school, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades from Passaic, in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as part of the Passaic City School District. Albert Michael Groh III is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the wide receivers coach for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the wide receivers coach of the Indianapolis Colts and as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Rams, Chicago Bears and New York Jets. He is a former starting quarterback at the University of Virginia.
Charles Cocuzza is a former American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Kean University in Union, New Jersey from 2003 to 2005, compiling a record of 7–23. Prior to taking over the Kean program, Cocuzza served as an assistant coach at Montclair State University for 27 years, most of which were as the Red Hawks' offensive coordinator.
Fred Hill Sr. was an American football and baseball coach. He served as the head baseball coach at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he served from 1984 through 2013. His teams earned 13 NCAA Division I baseball tournament bids at the school. Hill was also a head baseball and football coach for the Montclair State University Red Hawks in Upper Montclair, New Jersey. He compiled an overall college baseball coaching record of 1,089–749–9.
Ralph A. Jarvis is an American former professional football player who was a defensive end for one season with the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 1988 NFL draft. He played college football at Temple University and attended Glen Mills Schools in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. Jarvis was also a member of the Ottawa Rough Riders, Calgary Stampeders, Tampa Bay Storm, Massachusetts Marauders, Milwaukee Mustangs, Arizona Rattlers and New Jersey Red Dogs.
Bruce Wayne LaSane is a former American football wide receiver who played eight seasons in the Arena Football League (AFL) with the Cincinnati Rockers, Miami Hooters, Minnesota Fighting Pike, Milwaukee Mustangs, Orlando Predators, New Jersey Red Dogs, and Los Angeles Avengers. He played college football at Florida State University and attended Wildwood High School in Wildwood, Florida. He was also a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Orlando Thunder.
Frank Louis Mattiace is an American former professional football nose tackle and coach. He played college football at Holy Cross, and professionally for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL) and the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He was also the head coach of the New Jersey Red Dogs of the Arena Football League (AFL).
