The Amsterdam Flames are a professional Twenty20 cricket franchise based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Former Australian cricketer Steve Waugh, Australian field hockey player Jamie Dwyer and Tim Thomas are the owners of this franchise. [2] [3] They compete in the European T20 Premier League (ETPL), a multi-country tournament sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and organized in collaboration with Cricket Ireland, Cricket Scotland, and the Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB). The Flames play their home matches at the VRA Cricket Ground in Amstelveen, near Amsterdam.

History

In January 2026, the European T20 Premier League announced its first three franchises in a press conference held in Sydney. The Amsterdam-based franchise was confirmed under the name "Amsterdam Flames," alongside teams from Belfast and Edinburgh.
