Rongomaipapa Amy Ahomiro (born 1 May 1992) is a professional volleyball player from New Zealand. [1]

Personal life

Ahomiro was born in Tauranga, New Zealand on 1 May 1992, she was a high school graduate of Brent International School in Manila, Philippines where she moved with her family when she was 14, [2] and graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2015 after finishing an AB Communication course. [3]

Career

She played the sport of volleyball in the Philippines, as a member of the Ateneo de Manila University women's varsity volleyball team, the Ateneo Lady Eagles. Her stint with the Ateneo Lady Eagles was very fruitful. She won the Finals Most Valuable Player award and her team the Ateneo Lady Eagles won the title of the UAAP Season 77 (2014–15) women's volleyball tournament. [4] She joined the club BaliPure Purest Water Defenders for the 2016 Shakey's V-League 13th Season Open Conference wherein they finish in 3rd place beating the team of Laoag Power Smashers for the bronze medal. [5] After her stint with the Balipure Purest Water Defenders, she then joined the club team of Perlas Spikers for the 14th Season of Premier Volleyball League wherein they were about to play for the semi-finals but the rules was change and the 4 bottom teams will have a play-offs for the 3rd and 4th spot but they failed to make it to the cut.

UAAP Season 77 is the 2014–15 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The season host is the University of the East with Carmelita Mateo as president. Eight universities are competing in fifteen sports to vie for the general championship. Each sporting event is hosted by a school.

Rachel Anne Lopez Daquis is a Filipino volleyball player. She graduated from the Far Eastern University where she took up Business Management. She was also the team captain of the PLDT HOME TVolution women's team that played in the 2014 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship. She is a former team captain of the FEU Lady Tamaraws in her collegiate years, where she was given the title "Queen Tamaraw". She played in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) with the Cignal HD Spikers and is the PSL's brand ambassador for 2018 to 2019. The Ateneo Blue Eagles women's volleyball program is the women's collegiate varsity volleyball team of the Ateneo de Manila University. The team competes in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).

The UAAP Season 78 high school volleyball tournament started on August 22, 2015. The tournament venue is the Adamson University Gym in San Marcelino St., Ermita, Manila. Adamson is the tournament host. The number of participating schools in the boys' and girls' tournaments both increased to seven. Far Eastern University fielded boys' and girls' volleyball teams beginning season 77. Since there are now seven participating schools, the tournaments have a Final Four format. The UAAP Board decided to move the high school volleyball tournaments from 2nd semester to 1st semester due to the basketball juniors tournament being moved from the 1st semester to 2nd semester.
