Amyra Dastur (born 7 May 1993 [1] [2] ) is an Indian actress who prominently works in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Punjabi films. [3] [4]

Early life

Dastur is Parsi and she speaks English and Gujarati at home. [5] She holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from Mumbai's HR College. [6]

Career

Dastur started her career as a model in commercials. She made her Hindi cinema-acting debut in Manish Tiwary's romantic drama [7] Issaq , alongside Prateik Babbar. [8] [9] Amyra Dastur made her Tamil cinema debut through Anegan directed by K. V. Anand, and co-starring herself with actor Dhanush.

In her first international project, Kung Fu Yoga , Amyra acted alongside Jackie Chan and it released in India on 3 February 2017. [10]

Amyra Dastur was seen in director Akshat Verma's next, titled Kaalakaandi , starring Saif Ali Khan. Amyra shot for a song in the film which is an upbeat dance number and has some fun lyrics. The track has been choreographed by Adil Malik of Kar Gayi Chul fame. [11]

She debuted in Telugu cinema with Mahesh Babu's sister's first directorial venture, Manasuku Nachindi . Also in 2018, Amyra had her second Telugu release with Rajugadu opposite Raj Tarun. [12]

<i>Anegan</i> 2015 film directed by K. V. Anand

Anegan is a 2015 Indian period romantic thriller film co-written and directed by K. V. Anand and produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram, S. Ganesh, S. Suresh under the banner AGS Entertainment. The film features an ensemble cast starring Dhanush and Amyra Dastur in a quadruple roles, while Karthik, Ashish Vidyarthi, Aishwarya Devan, Mukesh Tiwari and Jagan appear in supporting roles. The plot of this story is inspired from the 1963 film Nenjam Marapathillai. The film's title is based on Thiruvasagam, which was written by poet Manikkavacakar. Sajid Nadiadwala is developing the Hindi remake named Pilfer Singh with Reddy as director and Kartik Aaryan and Amyra Dastur as leads.

Chidiakhana is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language coming-of-age sports drama film written and directed by Manish Tiwary. about a Bihari boy who is accepted in a Mumbai Chawl thanks to his wit, determination and football skills.
