Ana Christina Rodriguez (born January 20, 1986) is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Laredo, Texas. On her fifth attempt at the statewide title, she was crowned Miss Texas USA 2011 and went on to be named third runner-up to Miss USA 2011.

Pageant career

Early years

Rodriguez first entered the Miss USA system of pageants in 2006. [2] She was chosen as Miss Laredo USA and competed for the Miss Texas USA 2007 title, placing in the top 16 finalists and voted "Miss Congeniality" by her fellow contestants on June 25, 2006. [3] [4] [5]

She won the Miss Webb County USA crown in 2007 and competed for the Miss Texas USA 2008 title where she was named second runner-up on July 1, 2007. [6] [7] The following year she was named Miss Port Laredo USA and competed for the Miss Texas USA 2009 title where she was named second runner-up on June 29, 2008. [8] In 2009, competing as Miss Central Texas USA, Rodriguez was named first runner-up at the Miss Texas USA 2010 competition on September 6, 2009. [9] [10]

Miss Texas USA

In 2010, Rodriguez won the title of Miss Central Laredo USA and competed at the Miss Texas USA 2011 pageant in Houston, Texas. [1] [11] [12] [13] Her fifth try proved to be the charm and she was crowned Miss Texas USA 2011 on September 5, 2010. [14] [15] Rodriguez is the first Laredo native to be named Miss Texas USA. As Miss Texas USA, Rodriguez represented the state in a variety of events across Texas and around the United States. [2] These included serving as the Grand Marshal of the Fiesta Flambeau Parade in San Antonio, [18] meeting the troops aboard the USS Iwo Jima during Fleet Week in New York City, [19] running the Rock 'n' Roll Dallas Half Marathon, [20] and helping to construct the world's largest peanut butter and jelly sandwich at the Great American Peanut Butter Festival in Grand Saline, Texas. Miss USA

Winning the Miss Texas USA 2011 title allowed Rodriguez to compete in Las Vegas for the national Miss USA 2011 title. [1] [12] [22] During the competition, Rodriguez made international headlines for her interview competition response that the wives of politicians caught cheating on them should leave their husbands "and find a man who really loves you." Personal life

Rodriguez was born in Laredo, Texas in 1986. [14] [27] = [14] She is a 2004 graduate of Laredo's United High School. [28] Rodriguez graduated from Concordia University Texas in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in communications. [15] [27] She has modeled for Seventeen , Pageantry and Savvy magazines. United High School (Laredo, Texas) Public school

United High School is a public high school located in the northern portion of Laredo, Texas, United States, and is a part of the United Independent School District. A new campus opened on August 24, 2009, for the 2009-2010 school year to alleviate overcrowding at the old campus. Freshman students have been placed in a new campus right next to the main campus. It is the most populated school in Laredo.

Washingtons Birthday Celebration

The Washington's Birthday Celebration (WBCA) is an almost month-long event held each February in Laredo, the seat of Webb County in south Texas, that celebrates the birthday of George Washington. It is the largest celebration of its kind in the United States with approximately 400,000 attendees annually. The celebration consists of various festivals; a Society of Martha Washington Colonial Pageant and Ball, Princess Pocahontas Pageant and Ball, two parades, a carnival, an air show, fireworks, live concerts, "Fun-Fest" at Laredo Community College, and a citywide prom during which many of the Laredo elite dress in Colonial attire. Each year a prominent Laredo man and woman play the roles of George and Martha Washington. One of its main events, the Jalapeño Festival, has recently been named one of Top 10 eating festivals in the United States.

Crystle Stewart

Crystle Danae Stewart is an American actress, host, model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss USA 2008. Stewart later began an acting career, starring as a real estate agent Leslie Morris on the OWN/TBS comedy-drama television series For Better or Worse from 2011 to 2017 and in 2018 starred in the thriller film Acrimony.

Miss USA 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Miss USA pageant, was held on the Las Vegas Strip at the Theatre for the Performing Arts in the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Paradise, Nevada on Sunday, June 19, 2011. Rima Fakih of Michigan crowned her successor, Alyssa Campanella of California, at the end of this event. She represented the United States at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011.

Miss International 2013 53rd Miss International competition, beauty pageant edition

Miss International 2013, the 53rd Miss International pageant, was held on December 17, 2013 at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Alejandra Andreu, Miss International 2008, crowned Bea Santiago of the Philippines at the end of the event. This was the second consecutive year Japan hosted the pageant.

Monique Elyse Evans is an American dancer and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Texas 2014 and Miss Florida USA 2020. She represented Texas at Miss America 2015 and placed in the top sixteen and also represented Florida at Miss USA 2020.

Shannon Lee Sanderford is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Coppell, Texas, who was crowned Miss Texas 2015. She competed for the Miss America 2016 title in September 2015 and placed in the Top 10.

Destiny Vélez is a beauty pageant titleholder from San Juan, Puerto Rico, who was crowned Miss Puerto Rico 2015. She competed for the Miss America 2016 title in September 2015 and placed outside the Top 15. On December 20, 2015, she was suspended indefinitely from her Miss Puerto Rico position after a series of Islamophobic comments via Twitter.
