Anand Mamani also known as Vishwanath Chandrashekar Mamani was an Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party, Karnataka who served as the Deputy Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from 24 March 2020 till his death. He was a three term Member of Legislative Assembly from Saundatti Yellamma Assembly constituency. [1] [2]

His father, Chandrashekar Mallikarjun Mamani, held the position of deputy speaker during the 1990s. Chandrashekar Mamani himself was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) four times. Once as an independent candidate and three times representing the Janata Parivar. Additionally, his uncle, Vishwanath Karibasappa Mamani, also known as Rajanna Mamani, served as an independent MLA in 2004. [3]

In 2022, he passed away due to health complications. His condition worsened, leading to his admission to a hospital in Chennai. He was diabetic and had also faced a liver infection. Anand was transferred back to a hospital in Bangalore, where he remained in a coma for the last few days before his passing. [4]

The 15th Karnataka Legislative Assembly was constituted after the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections in 2018. Polling was held on 12 May for 222 constituencies out of the 224-member assembly, with counting of votes and results declared on 15 May. The term of the assembly is for five years.

Parasgad was a constituency of the Legislative Assembly in the Indian state of Karnataka. The constituency ceased to exist in 2008, following the redrawing of constituency boundaries. It was a part of the larger Belagavi Lok Sabha constituency. It was succeeded by Saundatti Yellamma Assembly constituency.

Krishna was an Indian politician, former speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly and member of the Janata Dal (Secular) from the state of Karnataka. He was born in Kothamaranahally village. He died on 21 May 2021 in Mysore, Karnataka.
