Anastasia Markova (born 16 October 1987) is a Russian female volleyball player. She is part of the Russia women's national volleyball team.
Volleyball is a popular team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964.
The Russia women's national volleyball team is governed by the Russian Volleyball Federation and takes part in international volleyball competitions. They played from 1949 to 1991 as the Soviet Union and as CIS in 1992.
She participated in the 2014 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix. On club level she played for Dinamo Moscow in 2014. [1]
The 2014 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix was the 22nd edition of the annual women's international volleyball tournament played by 28 countries from 25 July to 24 August 2014. The Group 1 final round was held in Tokyo, Japan. The Brazilian star team won the tournament for the tenth time, the second consecutive victory.
Yekaterina Aleksandrovna Gamova is a retired Russian volleyball player. She was a member of the national team that won the gold medals at the 2006 and 2010 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championships, and the silver medal in both the Athens 2004 and Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. She is 2.06 m tall with EU size 49 feet, making her one of the tallest female athletes in the world. Her aggressiveness on the court earned her the nickname "Queen of Volleyball" Her role was outside hitter/opposite.
