The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad and commonly known as Antwerp 1920, were an international multi-sport event held in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Romania competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States. 124 competitors, 71 men and 53 women, took part in 86 events in 13 sports. Notably, Romania was the only Eastern Bloc nation to participate at these Games; all others followed the Soviet Union's boycott of the Games. The Romanian athletes were greeted with warm applause and even a standing ovation from the spectators as they entered the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum during the opening ceremony, in part an affirmation of the nation's defiance of the boycott. The Romanian Olympic team was phenomenally successful at the games, ultimately placing second to the United States in the gold medal tally.
Water polo has been part of the Summer Olympics program since the second games, in 1900. A women's water polo tournament was introduced for the 2000 Summer Olympics. Hungary has been the most successful country in men's tournament, while the United States is the only team to win multiple times at the women's tournament since its introduction. Italy is the first and only country to win both the men's and women's water polo tournaments.
Iulică Ruican is a retired Romanian rower. He competed in coxed fours and eights at the 1992 and 1996 Olympics and won a gold and a silver medal in 1992. At the 1996 Olympics he served as a flag bearer for Romania at the opening ceremony. At the world championships he won seven medals between 1993 and 1998, including three gold medals.
Slovenia first participated as an independent nation at the Olympic Games at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France, and the country has sent athletes to compete at every Games since then. The Slovenian Olympic Committee was established in 1991 and was recognised by the International Olympic Committee on 5 February 1992.

Only one Djiboutian athlete has ever won a medal at the Olympics, marathon runner Hussein Ahmed Salah, who won a bronze medal in the 1988 marathon.
Anca Margareta Heltne, née Vîlceanu is former Romanian shot putter. She has an indoor personal best of 19.90 m, achieved in February 2010 in Bucharest. She represented her country at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Anca Gabriela Grigoraș is a retired Romanian artistic gymnast who won team silver medals at the 1976 Olympics and the 1978 World Championships. Individually, she was a European bronze medalist on balance beam in 1973.
Cristina Georgiana Vărzaru is a Romanian retired professional handball player who last played for CSM București. She was a member of the Romanian national team.
Aneta "Anca" Pătrășcoiu is a retired Romanian swimmer who won the bronze medal in the 200 meter backstroke event at the 1984 Summer Olympics. This was the first Olympic medal in Romanian swimming history. She retired in 1990 to become a swimming coach.
Anca Tănase is a retired Romanian rower. She was part of the Romanian eights that won gold medals at the 1996 Olympics and 1989 and 1997 world championships, placing second in 1995 and third in 1994. She is married to the Olympic rower Iulică Ruican.

Simona Gherman is a retired Romanian épée fencer, European champion in 2012 and 2016. She was twice team World Champion in 2010 and 2011 and five-time team European Champion in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2015.

Baza Sportivă Dan Anca, formerly known as Baza Sportivă DROMEX or Baza Sportivă Detunata, is a multi-use stadium in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The sport base was opened in 2011 on the place of old Baza Sportivă Detunata and it is used mostly for football matches, being the home ground of Viitorul Cluj. The stadium holds 1,000 people and is also used for Universitatea Cluj's youth center squads matches and trainings. Except of a main ground with a pitch of normal dimensions, covered with artificial turf, the complex contains several other football pitches with grass or artificial turf. The name of the stadium is in honour of footballer Dan Anca, who spent his entire career at Universitatea Cluj.
