Anchiale buruense [1] is a medium-sized stick insect found in Buru of the Maluku Islands, Indonesia. [2]
Anchiale buruense are geenish-brown. Females are about 160 mm (6.3 in) long and males are about 100 mm (3.9 in) long. Both sexes have a pair of wings.
The Phasmatodea are an order of insects whose members are variously known as stick insects, stick-bugs, walking sticks, stick animals, or bug sticks. They are generally referred to as phasmatodeans, phasmids, or ghost insects. Phasmids in the family Phylliidae are called leaf insects, leaf-bugs, walking leaves, or bug leaves. Further research is needed.
