Something for Kate are an Australian alternative rock band, which formed in 1994 with Paul Dempsey on lead vocals and guitar, and Clint Hyndman on drums. They were joined in 1998 by Stephanie Ashworth on bass guitar and backing vocals. The group have released seven studio albums: both The Official Fiction (2003) and Desert Lights (2006) topped the ARIA Albums Chart; while Beautiful Sharks (1999), Echolalia (2001) and Leave Your Soul to Science (2012) reached the top 10. Two of their singles have reached the ARIA top 20: "Monsters" (2001) and "Déjà Vu" (2003). The band have received a total of 11 nominations for ARIA Music Awards in 1999, 2001 and 2003.
Jebediah are an Australian alternative rock band formed in 1994 in Perth, Western Australia. They were formed by Chris Daymond on lead guitar, Kevin Mitchell on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, and Vanessa Thornton on bass guitar. They were joined a year later by Kevin's older brother, Brett Mitchell, on drums. After winning the National Campus Band Competition, the group were brought to national attention when their 1996 single "Jerks of Attention" received heavy airplay on Australian alternative radio station Triple J – which was followed by their breakthrough debut album, Slightly Odway.
Architecture in Helsinki were an Australian indie pop band which consisted of Cameron Bird, Gus Franklin, Jamie Mildren, Sam Perry, and Kellie Sutherland. Karnivool is an Australian progressive rock band formed in Perth in 1997. Tame Impala is the psychedelic music project of Australian multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker. In the recording studio, Parker writes, records, performs, and produces all of the project's music. As a touring act, Tame Impala consists of Parker, Dominic Simper, Jay Watson, Cam Avery, and Julien Barbagallo. The group has a close affiliation with fellow Australian psychedelic rock band Pond, sharing members and collaborators, including Nick Allbrook, formerly a live member of Tame Impala. Originally signed to Modular Recordings, Tame Impala is now signed to Interscope Records in the US and Fiction Records in the UK.
"Parlez Vous Francais?" is a song released by Australian electronic band Art vs. Science as a radio single. It was released as the second single from their debut self-titled EP. Sales towards the track counted toward the EP; however, the song charted at number 41 on the ARIA Digital Track Chart.
"Plans" is the second single by Australian alternative rock band Birds of Tokyo's self-titled third album, Birds of Tokyo. Sales towards "This Fire" counted towards the EP which peaked at number 32 and was certified gold in 2013.
"Drop the Game" is a song by the Australian musicians Flume and Chet Faker. It was released on 18 November 2013, by Future Classic from their EP, Lockjaw. The song peaked at number 18 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified Platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association for shipments exceeding 70,000 copies. It was voted number five on radio station Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2013. The song was also nominated for Best Dance Release at the ARIA Music Awards of 2014, but it lost to "High" by Peking Duk.
"Withdrawals" is a song recorded by American country music artist Tyler Farr. It was released to radio on June 15, 2015 by Columbia Nashville as the second single from his second studio album Suffer in Peace. Written by Josh Kear, Gordie Sampson and Hillary Lindsey, the song is about a man dealing with the fallout of a relationship like an addiction. Despite receiving positive reviews from critics, "Withdrawals" had minor success compared to the previous single "A Guy Walks Into a Bar", peaking at numbers 47 and 52 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts respectively. This was due to the label wanting to withdraw the single from radio and release “Better in Boots” instead, feeling that a more upbeat single would climb the charts quicker and bolster his concert audience. An accompanying music video for the song, directed by Eric Welch, features Farr inside a glass box as he's being submerged into water as it fills up.
"I'd Go with You Anywhere" is a song by Australian band, Birds of Tokyo. It was co-written by the group's members, Ian Berney, Ian Kenny, Glenn Sarangapany, Adam Spark and Adam Weston. It was released on 25 September 2015, as the lead single from their compilation album, Playlist. "I'd Go with You Anywhere" debuted at No. 40 on the ARIA singles chart and peaked at No. 18 five weeks later, becoming Birds of Tokyo's third Top 20 hit after "Plans" (2010) and "Lanterns" (2013).
"I Know There's Gonna Be " is a song by English music producer Jamie xx, with featured vocals from American rapper Young Thug and Jamaican musician Popcaan. The song was released as the third single from Jamie xx's debut studio album, In Colour, on 22 May 2015 in the UK and 28 August in the U.S. The official music video for the song was uploaded to YouTube on 28 September 2015. "I Know There's Gonna Be " peaked at number 115 on the UK Singles Chart and number 90 on the Australian ARIA Charts. It also appears on the soundtrack for the video game NBA Live 16 and NBA 2K17 while also appearing in an episode of Euphoria. English rapper Skepta's grime-influenced remix of the song made its debut on Drake's OVO Sound Radio on Apple Music's Beats 1 radio station. On March 3, 2021, the song was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for combined sales and streaming data of over 500,000 units in the United States.
