Birds of Tokyo is the debut four-track extended play from Australian alternative rockers, Birds of Tokyo, which was released in January 2005 on independent label, Egg Records, through MGM Distribution.
In 2004 Adam Spark, a Perth guitarist, approached local hard rockers, Karnivool's lead singer, Ian Kenny, to provide vocals for some demos he wanted to record for publication rights. [1] They decided to start a side project, Birds of Tokyo, to record the material and recruited Anthony Jackson on bass guitar and Adam Weston on drums from fellow Perth group, Tragic Delicate. [1] They released a self-titled four-track extended play as their debut in January 2005 on independent label Egg Records, which was distributed by MGM Distribution. [1]
Karnivool is an Australian alternative metal band formed in Perth in 1997. The group currently consists of Ian Kenny on vocals, Drew Goddard and Mark Hosking on guitar, Jon Stockman on bass, and Steve Judd on drums. Karnivool emerged from a band Kenny and Goddard formed during high school. They have released three studio albums to date.
The Beautiful Girls are an Australian roots music group founded in Sydney in 2001 by Mat McHugh, Clay MacDonald, and Mitchell Connelly. They have released three extended plays, Morning Sun (2002), Goodtimes (2002), and The Weight of the World (2004), plus five studio albums, Learn Yourself (2003), We're Already Gone (2005), Ziggurats (2007), Spooks (2010), and Dancehall Days (2014). The last four albums have all peaked into the top 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Spooks and Dancehall Days also debuted at No. 1 on the Australian Independent Chart and No. 7&5 on the American Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, respectively. Their single "I Thought About You" reached No. 60 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
Andrew Douglas Strachan is an Australian rock musician. In 1994, after growing up in Adelaide, he relocated to Melbourne, and in 2000 he became the drummer of Sydney-based alternative rock group, Pollyanna. In 2002, he joined fellow alternative rockers, The Living End; they have issued four Top 5 albums on the ARIA Charts, Modern Artillery, State of Emergency, White Noise and The Ending Is Just the Beginning Repeating.
Grinspoon EP, also known as the Green EP, is the debut extended play by the Australian band Grinspoon. The six-track EP was recorded over two weeks at Grevillia Studios in Brisbane in July 1995, with producer, Ramesh Sathiah, and was released on 1 August 1995 via local independent record label, Oracle Records.
Twitch is an EP, and the first official release, by Australian alternative rock band Jebediah. It was released on 5 August 1996 by record label Murmur.
Licker Bottle Cozy, was the second EP by the Australian rock band Grinspoon. The EP was initially released by Grudge Records Australia on 16 December 1996. It was recorded by Phil McKellar in July of that year and was of a significantly better sound quality than their first EP. Two of the tracks, "Post Enebriated Anxiety" and "Champion" were included unchanged in their debut album Guide to Better Living. It was released in the United States by Universal Records in March 1997. The EP reached No. 65 on the ARIA Singles Chart in January 1997 and No. 25 on the CMJ's 'Metal Top 25' in 1998.
All for One is the debut album by Australian hard rock band The Screaming Jets which was released in April 1991. It peaked at No. 2 on the ARIA Charts.
Sneaky Sound System is an Australian dance music group formed in late 2001 by Angus McDonald on guitar, MC Double D on vocoder and vocals, Damien Hesse (DJ) and Nick Broadhurst on saxophone. They were joined in 2004 by Connie Mitchell (ex-Primary) on vocals; Downey left the band in September 2009, Hesse in 2005 and Broadhurst in 2006. On 12 August 2006, they released their self-titled debut studio album, which peaked at No. 5 on the ARIA Albums Chart in mid-November 2007 and was certified 3× platinum by December 2011, denoting shipments of 210,000 copies. The group's breakthrough single, "I Love It", which was issued on 8 July 2006, peaked at No. 24 on the ARIA Singles Chart and spent 73 weeks in the Top 100 – this broke the record as the longest charting single previously held by The Living End's 1997 hit, "Second Solution / Prisoner of Society", at 69 weeks. Their second studio effort, 2, which appeared on 16 August 2008, became their first number-one album. On 7 October 2011, From Here to Anywhere was released and reached at No. 11. At ARIA Music Awards ceremonies they have been nominated fourteen times winning twice in 2007 for Best Dance Release and Breakthrough Artist – Album for their eponymous album.
El Producto is the debut extended play (EP) by Australian electronic music group the Avalanches. It was released on 8 December 1997 via Wondergram Records and distributed by Shock Records. El Producto was the second release by the group, and included a different, extended version of their debut single, "Rock City", which had appeared on Trifekta Records two months prior.
Take Time is the third extended play by Gyroscope and was released in May 2002. The five-track EP was recorded at Studio Couch in Perth, Western Australia earlier that year and was produced and engineered by Shaun O'Callaghan.
The Preytells were an Australian indie rock band from Perth, formed in 2004 by Jessicca Bennett on lead guitar and backing vocals, Simon Okely on guitar and lead vocals, Jaclyn Pearson on drums and percussion and Cameron Stewart on bass guitar and backing vocals. Their sole album, Flood Songs/June Songs, was issued in September 2009; before they disbanded later that year. Their single, "Shout!", was nominated for WAM Song of the Year in the Pop category in 2008; while, "Lord Hold My Hand", was nominated for the same category in 2009.
Birds of Tokyo are an Australian alternative rock band from Perth, Western Australia. Their debut album, Day One, gained them domestic success, reaching number three on the AIR Independent Album charts and spending a total of 36 consecutive weeks in the top ten.

All three tracks were written by the four band members: Adam Spark, Ian Kenny, Anthony Jackson and Adam Weston.
"Off Kilter" is the first song released from Birds of Tokyo's debut album Day One. It was released December 2005 on independent label, Egg Records, through MGM Distribution. It was produced by Forrester Savell. The single received national radio airplay through Triple J and community radio stations, resulting in the initial production of the band's debut album, Day One, selling out nationwide. The album was released on 3 February 2007 and debuted at No. 88 on the ARIA album charts and No. 3 on the AIR album charts.
Dyscord were an Australian metalcore band from Perth. In 2006 they released their debut extended play, Arming Within, through independent label Prime Cuts and toured Australia supporting international bands, God Forbid and The Black Dahlia Murder.
Universes is the second album from Birds of Tokyo, independently released on 5 July 2008, through MGM Distribution. The album was recorded at Loop Studios in West Perth, Wing Command in Perth, Western Australia and in "a big beautiful wooden house by the sea" at Injidup.
March Fires is the fourth studio album by Western Australian alternative rock band Birds of Tokyo. It was released on 1 March 2013 in Australia, North American and Europe through EMI. It is the band's second major-label studio album release after 2010's Birds of Tokyo under EMI. It is also the first album by the band not to feature founding member Anthony Jackson, after he had left the band in 2011. His replacement, Ian Berney, makes his debut appearance on the album as the band's new bassist.
"I'd Go with You Anywhere" is the first single from Australian alternative rock band Birds of Tokyo's compilation album, Playlist. It was co-written by the group's members, Ian Berney, Ian Kenny, Glenn Sarangapany, Adam Spark, and Adam Weston, and was released on 25 September 2015. "I'd Go with You Anywhere" debuted at No. 40 on the ARIA singles chart and peaked at No. 18 five weeks later, becoming Birds of Tokyo's third Top 20 hit after "Plans" (2010) and "Lanterns" (2013).
