Andreas Harrysson (born 3 June 1975) is a Swedish professional darts player who mainly plays in World Darts Federation (WDF) events.

Career

In 2016, Harrysson became the Scandinavian singles champion for the first time. He defended this in 2018. He also won the team competition with Sweden in 2016.

Also in 2016, Andreas Harrysson played his first 2016 WDF Europe Cup reaching the semifinal before losing out to Wales player Jim Williams.

In 2017, Andreas became the Swedish champion for the first time. Harrysson then defended the title in 2018 before adding a third consecutive title in 2019. Joining the likes of Stefan Lord and Magnus Caris to win it three times.

In 2018, Harrysson won the Finnish Masters and WDF Europe Cup Team. In September 2019, he qualified for the 2020 BDO World Darts Championship as the Baltic & Scandinavian Qualifier. [3]

In 2020, Harrysson made his first-ever appearance on television. Competing in the 2020 BDO World Darts Championship live on Eurosport winning his preliminary round game 3–2 in sets against the current One80 L-style World Masters champion John O'Shea before losing out to number one seed Wesley Harms 2–3 in sets.

Harrysson made his PDC debut in October 2020 at the 2020 International Darts Open, after qualifying via the Nordic & Baltic qualifier. He made it to a second round game after beating Benito van de Pas before losing out to world number eight James Wade.

2021 Harrysson made his second appearance on the European Tour playing the 2021 Gibraltar Darts Trophy in which he won his first game against the Irishman Keane Barry before losing out to world number 13 Danny Noppert

In June 2023, Andreas took part of the 2023 Nordic Darts Masters losing out first game to the former three time world champion Michael Van Gerwen

In December 2023, Harrysson hit a nine-dart finish in a deciding leg in a 4–3 win against Andreas Toft-Jørgensen in the Modus Super Series. [4]

Harrysson made his third appearance on the European tour playing the 2024 Belgian Darts Open in which he defeated the world youth championship runner up Gian Van Veen 6-1 with an average of 107.27 before losing out to the former two time world champion Gary Anderson in a last leg decider 6-5.

Also in March 2024, in Group A Session 1 of Week 5 of Modus Super Series 7, Harryson posted a 117.88 in a 4–0 whitewash of Michael Burgoine. [5] Andreas followed this up with wining the event and becoming the second player in history to win three modus superseries events. By winning this event he qualified for the modus championsweek which results in Andreas Harrysson has to withdraw from the national team tournament Nordic Cup.

A nine-dart finish, also known as a nine-darter, is a perfect leg or single game in the sport of darts. The object of the game is to score a set number of points, most commonly 501; in order to win, a player must reach the target total exactly and hit a double scoring area with their last dart.
