Andrew Mackiewicz (born December 12, 1995) is an American saber fencer. He competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. [1]
Mackiewicz lived in Westwood, Massachusetts, and later moved to New York City. [2] [3] [4] His parents were immigrants. [5] He trained at eight years of age at Zeta Fencing Club in Massachusetts, under head coach Zoran Tulum. [2] [3]
Mackiewicz won an individual silver medal at the 2012 Cadet World Fencing Championships. a team bronze medal at the 2014 Junior World Fencing Championships, an individual silver medal and team gold medal at the 2016 Pan American Fencing Championships, and an individual bronze medal at the 2018 Pan American Fencing Championships. He attended Penn State ('18), where he majored in Marketing. [3] [2] Fencing for the Penn State Nittany Lions, as a freshman and then as a sophomore Mackiewicz was the 2015 and then the 2016 NCAA Men’s Sabre Champion. [2]
Mackiewicz competed for the United States at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021, and came in 8th in team sabre and 31st in individual sabre. [3]
He won a bronze medal at the 2022 Pan American Championships, and a team bronze medal at the 2023 Sabre de Wołodyjowski.
Sada Molly Jacobson is an American Olympic fencer. She is the 2008 Olympic Individual Sabre silver medalist in women's sabre, the 2004 Olympic Individual Sabre bronze medalist in women's sabre, and the 2003 Pan American Games champion in women's sabre. In 2016, she was inducted into the United States Fencing Hall of Fame.
Keeth Thomas Smart is an American saber fencer, who was the first American to gain the sport's top ranking for males in saber. A three-time Olympian, he won a silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing in team sabre.
Vladimir Aliverovich Nazlymov is a former sabre fencer, and coach for the USSR and later the United States, to which he moved in 1991, of Crimean Tatar origin. He won three team Olympic sabre gold medals, and was the head coach of the Soviet Union Military Fencing Team for 14 years. He then coached in the United States, notably for Ohio State University, from which he retired in lieu of termination during an NCAA investigation that found him guilty of aggravated level I violations, sanctioned him, and vacated a number of records of the team and its members. He now serves as a coach at the Nazlymov Fencing Foundation, which was founded by his son and daughter-in-law.
Mariel Leigh Zagunis is an American sabre fencer. She is a two-time Olympic champion in the individual sabre and the first American woman to win a gold medal in fencing at the Olympics. She was Team USA flag bearer in the 2012 Summer Olympics Parade of Nations. She has two Olympic bronze team medals and is a five-time Olympian.
The Penn State Nittany Lions are the athletic teams of Pennsylvania State University, except for the women's basketball team, known as the Lady Lions. The school colors are navy blue and white. The school mascot is the Nittany Lion. The intercollegiate athletics logo was commissioned in 1983.
Rebecca Ward is an American sabre fencer. She won the gold medal at the sabre 2006 World Fencing Championships after beating Mariel Zagunis 15–11 in the final, and took bronze in both individual and team sabre events at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She also won the women's NCAA national individual sabre championship three times, the first in history to do so in sabre. In 2015, she was inducted into the USA Fencing Hall of Fame.
Ivan James Lee is an American Olympic sabre fencer and coach. He was a two-time NCAA Men's Sabre Champion, a five-time national sabre champion, and was inducted into the US Fencing Association Hall of Fame. He worked as a police officer in the New York City Police Department from 2008 until 2022, and as the Women's Fencing Team Head Coach at Long Island University from 2019 until December 2023. Lee was elected Chair of the board of directors of USA Fencing in September 2023. He was suspended by USA Fencing in December 2023, for his alleged conduct that would constitute a violation of the U.S. Center for SafeSport (SafeSport) Code. Lee resigned when he was informed of his suspension. His suspension was upheld by SafeSport on January 4, 2024, lifted by SafeSport on January 16 while it continued its investigation of Lee’s conduct, and then reimposed by SafeSport in February 2024. In February 2024 Lee was arrested on charges of forcible touching, sexual abuse, and harassment.

Emily Phillipa Jacobson is an American Olympic sabre fencer. She won a bronze medal in the 2003 Pan American Games, and was 2004 Junior World Champion in women's saber.
Abram "Abe" DreyerCohen was an American Olympic foil, épée, and sabre fencer.
Nicole Ross is an American foil fencer. Fencing for the Columbia Lions fencing team, she won the 2010 NCAA individual women's foil title, and was a three time All-American. At the 2012 Summer Olympics she competed in individual women's foil, coming in 25th, while in the team event she and her teammates came in sixth. At the 2018 World Championships, she and Team USA won the gold medal in the women's team foil event.
Daryl Homer is an American right-handed saber fencer, three-time Olympian, and 2016 individual Olympic silver medalist.
Eli Dershwitz is an American left-handed saber fencer, five-time individual Pan American champion, three-time Olympian, and the 2023 saber World Champion.

Monica Aksamit is an American former Olympic saber fencer. She represented the United States at the 2016 Summer Olympics, earning a bronze medal in the Women's Saber Team competition. She won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2019 Pan American Games. In 2022, she was a contestant on Fox’s dating and relationship reality television series revival, Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer.

Nick Itkin is an American foil fencer. He is a two-time Olympic bronze medalist, two-time World Championship individual medalist, 2023 Pan American Games team gold medalist, 2024 Pan American Games team gold medalist, and two-time NCAA individual champion.
Khalil Thompson is an American fencer. He qualified to represent Team USA in the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics as an alternate on the men's sabre team, which ranked 8th.
