Andrii Ivanovych Dubchak (Ukrainian : Андрій Іванович Дубчак, born 19 October 1976, Kalynivka, Vinnytsia Oblast) is a Ukrainian photographer, videographer, photojournalist, and war correspondent. [1] Dubchak is the founder and director of the independent reporting media outlet Donbas Frontliner.
Dubchak was one of the first streamers of Euromaidan, having filmed the main events of the Revolution of Dignity, including the clashes on 17-20 February 2014. He has been covering the Russian-Ukrainian war since 2015. [2] [3] [4]
The reports by Andrii Dubchak have been published and streamed by numerous media worldwide, including CNN, BBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and others. He is an honorable member of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers. [5]
Dubchak graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics at Vinnytsia National Agrarian University, the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Science at the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute". He is also an alumnus of the Digital Future Journalism program at the Kyiv Mohyla Academy School of Journalism.
Dubchak is a participant in a series of courses run by the Kyiv School of Photography.
From 2003 to 2021, Dubchak worked for Radio Svoboda as the website editor and in multimedia, SEO, and photographer. He covered the events during the annexation of Crimea. [6] [7]
As the first streamer of the Euromaidan, he filmed and streamed many events of the Revolution of Dignity, including the clashes on 18-20 February 2014. [2] He filmed the video "A Million's March" on 1 December 2013. Equipped with a GoPro camera, Dubchak climbed to the top of the then President Yanukovych’s ‘yolka’, a public Christmas tree, and filmed the Euromaidan protest march. In 2014, Andrii Dubchak received an international award, the Lovie Award, in the Internet Video category for this video. [3] [4]
He took up photography in 2015. Since then, he has regularly reported from the front line and covered the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Dubchak was one of the first journalists to document Russian war crimes against civilians in Ukraine, including the murder of a family on a bridge in Irpin on 6 March 2022. [8] [9]
In 2021, he launched his own project, Donbas Frontliner, which has grown into a bilingual media outlet with an audience of millions. He is currently its chief reporter and media director.
Andrii Dubchak collaborates with international media, in particular, NYT, [10] [11] [12] Zeit, Helsigin Sanomat, [13] [14] [15] Voice of America [16] [17] and many others. His materials have also been published in Ukrainian media, including Reporters, [18] Radio Svododa, [19] [20] Espreso TV. [21]
Dubchak was a co-producer of Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom , a film nominated for 2016 Oscar’s Best Documentary Feature, [22] and Freedom on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom directed by Evgeny Afineevsky. [23] He is also the co-producer of Ukraine Under Attack: 72 Hours in the Presidential Office. [24]
He is currently working on several documentaries that will be available for both Ukrainian and international audiences.

Sievierodonetsk, also spelled Severodonetsk or Siverskodonetsk, is a city in Luhansk Oblast, eastern Ukraine. It is located to the northeast of the left bank of the Donets river and approximately 110 km (68 mi) to the northwest from the administrative center of the oblast, Luhansk. Sievierodonetsk faces neighbouring Lysychansk across the river. The city, whose name comes from the above-mentioned river, had a population of 99,067, making it then the second-most populous city in the oblast. Since June 2022, it has been militarily occupied and administered by Russia.
The Sich Battalion, officially known as the 4th Sich Company of the Kyiv Regiment, is a Ukrainian special police battalion consisting of volunteers from Kyiv. The unit was formed in June 2014 by volunteers from the far-right party Svoboda at the start of the war in Donbas.

Serhii Sternenko is a Ukrainian activist, lawyer, and YouTuber. As of 2023, his YouTube channel has over 1.5 million subscribers. He is the head of the non-government organization Nebayduzhi, one of the founders of the People's Lustration, and a former board member and head of the Odesa regional branch of Right Sector, a coalition of Right-wing groups that includes ultranationalist and far-right elements. Derussification in Ukraine is a process of removing Russian influence from the post-Soviet country of Ukraine. This derussification started after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and intensified with the demolition of monuments to Lenin during Euromaidan in 2014 and the further systemic process of decommunization in Ukraine. The Russo-Ukrainian War gave a strong impetus to the process. Along with decommunization, derussification has been described as one of the components of a larger process of decolonization in Ukraine.
Law of Ukraine "On Protecting the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the State language" is a law approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on April 25, 2019, and which took full effect on July 16 of the same year. The law was passed by 278 votes of the People's Deputies. 38 voted against, 7 abstained, and 25 didn't vote; It was signed by Chairman of the Parliament Andriy Parubiy and President Petro Poroshenko.

Andrii Borysovych Pilshchykov was a Ukrainian fighter pilot with the call sign "Juice" (Джус) and a captain in the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force. He was qualified as a 2nd Class pilot and flew Mikoyan MiG-29s during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Pilshchykov was awarded the Order for Courage, 3rd class, in May 2022, and posthumously promoted to the rank of major. In 2024, he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
