Michelle Wingshan Kwan is a retired competitive figure skater and diplomat serving as United States Ambassador to Belize. In figure skating Kwan is a two-time Olympic medalist, a five-time World champion and a nine-time U.S. champion. She is tied with Maribel Vinson for the all-time National Championship record.
Tara Kristen Lipinski is an American former competitive figure skater, actress, sports commentator, and documentary film producer. A former competitor in women's singles, she is the 1998 Olympic champion, the 1997 World champion, a two-time Champions Series Final champion (1997–1998) and the 1997 U.S. national champion. Until 2019, she was the youngest single skater to win a U.S. Nationals and the youngest to become an Olympic and World champion in figure skating history. She is the first woman to complete a triple loop-triple loop combination, her signature jump element, in competition. Starting in 1997, Lipinski had a rivalry with fellow skater Michelle Kwan, which was played up by the American press, and culminated when Lipinski won the gold medal at the 1998 Olympics.
The figure skating events in 1998 Winter Olympics were held at the White Ring in Nagano. There were no changes in the format or scoring systems from 1994. Professionals were again allowed to compete, although they had to declare that intention and compete in ISU-approved events to do so. Previously, the ISU had been accused of rejecting Western professionals, while allowing Eastern Bloc state-sponsored "amateurs" to compete. Lee Yong-Kwan is a South Korean former volleyball player who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics and in the 1976 Summer Olympics.
Park Seon-Kwan is a South Korean swimmer, who specialized in backstroke events. He won a bronze medal, as a member of the South Korean swimming team, in the 400 m freestyle relay at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. He also collected two silver medals in the 100 and 200 m backstroke at the 2009 East Asian Games in Hong Kong, China. Park is a member of the swimming team at Korea National Sports University in Seoul.
Alexandr Tarabrin is a Kazakhstani backstroke swimmer. He is a former member of the swimming team for Volgograd State Academy of Physical Education, and is coached and trained by Azabat Sarbasov in Almaty.
Jeong Doo-hee is a South Korean former swimmer, who specialized in butterfly events. He represented his nation South Korea at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and shared silver medals with Park Seon-kwan, Choi Kyu-woong, and Park Tae-hwan in the 4×100 m medley relay at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.
Lok Kwan Hoi is an Hong Kong rower. He won the gold medal in the Men's lightweight single sculls at the 2014 Asian Games. He also compete in the men's lightweight double sculls at the 2012 Summer Olympics with Leung Chun Shek.
Katsuyuki Sakai is a Japanese rugby union player. He plays for the Japanese club Toyota Industries Shuttles in the Top League. He also plays rugby sevens for Japan's national rugby sevens team and was named in their 2016 Summer Olympics squad.
Ho Kwan Lung is a Hong Kong sprinter. He competed in the men's 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He later became a coach at Fung Kai No. 1 Secondary School.
Yee Tit Kwan is a Singaporean basketball player. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1956 Summer Olympics.
