Malayalam cinema is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Malayalam language, which is widely spoken in the state of Kerala. Malayalam cinema includes the commercial film industry, popularly known as Mollywood, as well as independent cinema made in Malayalam.
Ravi K. Chandran is an Indian cinematographer and film director who predominantly works in Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil-language cinema. His career began in 1991 with the Malayalam film Kilukkampetti. Balu Varghese is an Indian actor and singer who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. He began his acting career as a child actor in Chanthupottu (2005).
Basil Joseph is an Indian film director and actor who works in the Malayalam film industry. He started his film career as an assistant director of Vineeth Sreenivasan in the 2013 film Thira. He has directed three films, Kunjiramayanam (2015), Godha (2017) and Minnal Murali (2021).
Anu Sithara is an Indian actress who appears predominantly in Malayalam films. She has also appeared in some Tamil films. She made her debut in 2013 as a child artist Pottas Bomb in 2013. Anu is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and well known for her stage shows.
Hareesh Peradi is an Indian actor who acts predominantly in Malayalam and Tamil films.
Kalyani Priyadarshan is an Indian actress who appears predominantly in Malayalam films, in addition to Tamil and Telugu films. Kalyani is a recipient of one Filmfare Award South and three South Indian International Movie Awards.
Roshan Mathew is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Malayalam, Hindi & Tamil films. He began his career with numerous theatre productions based in Chennai and Mumbai. These include The Glass Menagerie directed by Rajit Kapoor and 07/07/07 directed by Faezeh Jalali.

Jeem Boom Bhaa is a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language comedy thriller film written and directed by Rahul Ramachandran. The film is produced by Mystic Frames Productions. It stars Askar Ali, Anju Kurian, Baiju Santhosh, Aneesh Gopal, and Neha Saxena in the lead roles. The film began in August 2018.
Minnal Murali is a 2021 Indian Malayalam-language superhero film directed by Basil Joseph and produced by Sophia Paul, under the banner of Weekend Blockbusters. The screenplay is written by Arun Anirudhan and Justin Mathew. The film stars Tovino Thomas and Guru Somasundaram. The story follows the life of Jaison, a young tailor who gains superpowers after being struck by lightning, and transforms into a superhero.
L2: Empuraan, also called L2E, is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language action thriller film directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopy. It is the second instalment in a planned trilogy, following the 2019 film Lucifer. The film is jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Aashirvad Cinemas. It stars Mohanlal as Khureshi-Ab'raam / Stephen Nedumpally, reprising his role from the original, alongside an ensemble cast of Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Shakti Kapoor, Alexx O'Nell, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sharaf U Dheen, Manoj K. Jayan, Arjun Das, Bobby Simha, Rahul Madhav, Sai Kumar, Sachin Khedekar, Jisshu Sengupta and Fazil.
