Malayalam cinema is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Malayalam language, which is widely spoken in the state of Kerala and Lakshadweep islands of India. Malayalam cinema includes the commercial film industry, sometimes known as Mollywood, as well as independent cinema made in Malayalam. According to recent trends and critical acclaim, the Malayalam film industry (Mollywood) is often considered the "best" film industry in India, known for its high quality storytelling, strong performances, and focus on social issues, even though the largest film industry in terms of viewership remains Bollywood
Ravi K. Chandran is an Indian cinematographer and film director who predominantly works in Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil-language cinema. His career began in 1991 with the Malayalam film Kilukkampetti. He is the founding member of the Indian Society of Cinematographers (ISC) and has won two Filmfare Awards and one Southern Filmfare Award.
M. P. Michael, better known by his stage name Lal, is an Indian actor, director, screenwriter, producer and distributor who predominantly works in Malayalam and Tamil films and in a few Telugu films. Lal has won several awards, including a National Film Award – Special Mention for acting (2012), two Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor, and a Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Malayalam (2008). Jeem Boom Bhaa is a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language comedy thriller film written and directed by Rahul Ramachandran. The film is produced by Mystic Frames Productions. It stars Askar Ali, Anju Kurian, Baiju Santhosh, Aneesh Gopal, and Neha Saxena in the lead roles. The film began in August 2018.

The story follows the life of Jaison, a young tailor who gains superpowers after being struck by lightning, and transforms into a superhero.
Identity is a 2025 Indian Malayalam-language action thriller film written and directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan. It is produced by Confident Group and Ragam Movies. The film stars Tovino Thomas, Trisha, Vinay Rai, Aju Varghese, Archana Kavi, and Shammi Thilakan.
